Judge denies the NFL's emergency motion for a stay of the Ezekiel Elliott preliminary injunction

That ruling was a given. Mazzant wasn't about to stay his own injunction: it's just that the process requires the NFL request a stay from him before appealing. The 5th is where all the action is.

I thought all the action was at Mile High.

Mazzant sounds like how Snoop Dog would say Judge Mant.

Wish he would have done this before Zeke went ahead and served his first game. We could have really used him yesterday.
I know its hard to see him.....but i think i see someone where a cowboys jersey in these pics.

Didn't the NFLPA just respond to the NFL's motion this Friday (15th)?

The NFL only filed the motion with CA5 on Friday. The NFLPA wouldn't have filed a same day response. They would need time to review and properly organize a response with specific points (that are cited) against the points made by the NFL.

I don't recall anything being filed by the NFLPA on Friday, but if there was it must have been something to Mazzant, not the NFL's recent motion to CA5. There's too much going on at once in different courts to follow.

Judge denies NFL's emergency stay request in Ezekiel Elliott case

A U.S. District Court judge in Texas on Monday denied the NFL's motion for an emergency stay of an injunction that is allowing Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott to continue to play while his NFL suspension works its way through the courts.

The move means the case will now move to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, where the NFL already has filed an appeal in the case. The league has asked for an emergency order in the case as early as Tuesday.

Monday's ruling by Judge Amos Mazzant means Elliott can continue to play.

Already a thread being discussed.

I believe all that came into play yesterday as he became frustrated with how things were going on the field

The NFLPA submitted their filing to the 5th CA over the weekend and the NFL responded today. With Mazzant's ruling today they are just waiting on a decision from the 5th CA.

I think JG has a very detailed heart to heart talk with Zeke (not through the media or other players) and see how that goes. More of a pep talk however with an ultimatum. With the legal news this morning, his future is now pretty set for this year. IF Zeke does not engage, you start giving reps to DMac and roll a different direction until Zeke gets his mojo back.

No it doesn't. He didn't play last Sunday! :muttley:

He looked suspended when he didn't chase after the INT. Larry Allen would have outrun Zeke yesterday.
