As a matter of fact CM i'm thinking of doing it again, it really was as mentioned a very positive experience, my body felt really 'good' and it seemed, perhaps erroneously, that i had a real 'clarity of thought' through the whole event.

I really hope things work out for you.

Hey, man, I've been healthy before. But this last year I can't say I've had the best diet. In fact, I was trying to kill myself with food almost it seems. Anyway, so I went through a bunch of stuff with my health and I have had nothing bud positive experiences from juicing. In fact, today I have taken no medications at all. So this tells me my body loves this. I juice mostly carrots and cucumbers. But I'm finding out so much stuff out about other vegetables and even fruits.... I was saying earlier I'd never juice a tomato. But I do like tomato juice.

The problem with V8 is it has been boiled and all the nutrients have been taken out of it.

So why not make your own tomato based juice, add some celery and garlic and onion...carrots, etc. Sounds very good to me right now. I'm doing another 48 hr one over the weekend.

In truth, it's not fasting. Because you're sort of eating juice. I'm getting calories and nutrition. I'll soon find out if it's safe or not for me to start consuming fiber again. I don't want to find that out the hard way.

I began this around 3 weeks ago.

I'm down 19lbs as of today! And I have 20 more to go. And I haven't even been on a fast longer than 3 days.

I would love to hear about your experience, rock. And if you're thinking about it you probably should do it. I'm spending a little bit on food, but i once ate out that much anyway. LOL

Very funny.

On a serious note, I think the media and food industry have done a good job of steering us the wrong way about what is healthy and what is not.

If everyone ate raw foods, which is naturally what we're supposed to eat, they wouldn't sell little debbies and frozen pizzas. It's just a fact.

Food and Drugs should not be overseen by the same entity.

Started a juice fast today. My initial plan is to make it through 2 weeks and see how I'm doing.

I just made a juice which consisted of 2 apples, 4 stalks of celery, 4 carrots, 1 large bunch of broccoli, and a bunch of strawberries. For now, I think I'm just going to do one large batch a day and just drink off of it all day. I may start trying different recipes in the coming days to see if I maybe I can get a breakfast type juice and then a dinner type juice that taste totally different.

We'll see. :D

Good luck, man! It is very hard, but you can do it with will power. I do it on the weekends because I'm tied up with school during the weeks. I still fast most of the time and I eat maybe once a day.

If you do get hungry and cave, just eat the produce you were going to juice. That's the goal is to go all raw. But really stick it out. I'm warning you it is difficult, but it is also very well worth it.

Additionally, you may find it better to juice a few times a day. I do store juice, but everything I read says the fresher the better.

Good luck, man. I'm going on to my 2nd day...tomorrow is the hard part. Who knows, I may make it till monday. But really, stick with it! Also, for weight loss..if you're doing it for that, vegetables work better. But other people i talked to lost on fruit too.

I know cucumbers have lots of juice, but in general, vegetables don't seem to. I could always drink the occasional V8 I guess, but that's mostly tomato.

Apples, carrots, and strawberries are probably going to be the star of most of my juices I'm thinkin.

Ok. So I have heard about this movie for the first time this week and this is the third time it has been mentioned. So I went to netflix and watched it. I also have a friend who lost over 30 pounds in three weeks just jumping.

So I am in. I have done 24 and 48 hour fasts before but it wasn't for health reasons but for spiritual reasons. The first day wasn't bad but the second day lasted forever.

You won't regret it. Like is said, if you need to eat try a mango or just something raw. Dude, it'll change you and the way you feel. Also, I'll post things that are useful from a nutritional standpoint. If others are doing this as well, post any info you find.

Also, I got my juicer at Wal Mart. And I don't always juice organic produce and so I just peel it or wash it with a brush really well under running water.

Cheers, Cajun.

Thanks. What juicer did you buy? Do you like it?

BTW. Glad you are feeling better.

Jack LaLanne's. It's about 99 bucks, but there are cheaper models. I didn't do any research and I just grabbed this one. So do a little research. But I'm completely happy with this one, although I think I could have saved had I shopped around.

No biggie--I was hurting at the time. And thanks.

How has the first day been?

Not bad really. Though, I did dabble in the juice fasting thing when I first got this juicer a couple of months ago. I made it to the 3rd day before I gave in.

So, I'm thinking that I'll need all the moral support I can get come that 3rd day :D

Cucumbers and celery for green juice, goes great with apple. If you go with other fruits, I like cantaloups and mangos (for the taste). But carrots are cheap and yeah, I like mixing a few carrots in even a green drink.

Yeah, it's really tough for me too. I'll be there tomorrow. But I have a plan to go to the store. Cucumbers are on sale for 3 for a dollar. I may get an apple or two to eat and just see how it goes. The reason i didn't eat raw foods is bc I don't know how my stomach will handle fiber. But if i could just eat fruits or something through that rough time, I think I could go 10 days straight....

Day 2 hasn't been so bad. Though, I did walk outside of the house earlier and smelled a neighbor cooking hamburgers. Ho-ly crap! Did that smell good!

Tomorrow is going to suuuuuuuck though. I'll definitely be posting in here as I hit that wall. :D

Yesterday was rough. I feel energized today though. I'm drinking cucumber, mango and cantaloup as a celebration to the 4th day.

Woot!
