So, will the defense that looked good during the four game winning streak and rated fourth show up?

Frankly I think Dallas can put points up against the Seahawks. Scoring points is one thing we have been able to do

Yeah... that was a major part of one of BP's PC's this week.... he gave one of those "Hey, lookit... we STILL scored 31 points" with all our mistakes...

I would like to add that we were going in for possible tying TD(w/ 2 pt conv)

so yeah!

This is like a high schooler who starts for the varsity football team calling out a middle schooler...way to pick on the little guy who sucks Peterson!

If some how our defense can get their heads out of the backend this team still has a chance to do something in the playoffs. I know most have given up on that happening but I still feel there is life in this defense; hopefully they can prove me right.

Well Peterson just gave Romo and the O-line some juicy Bulletin board material.

Can they Nut up and do something about it?

You know...you have a somewhat valid point. But, to add on, the oline might not be able to pick up stunts/blitzes as well as they should because Parcells does not like to really do much of either, so, therefore, if the defense does not practice them against the oline, how is the oline going to learn how to handle them!

You play like you practice, so, I just wonder how much the defense does practice doing the blitz/stunt? Because if the defense is not successful trying to blitz, I wonder if it's because Parcells does not like to practice them? He has said the he don't like to blitz...so therefore maybe they don't practice them, hence, the oline don't know how to handle them?

I'm confused now!

That's precisely what I just said in fewer words:D

All you mad bombers calling for complicated blitzes and stunts need to take a walk down memory lane and revisit the start of the 2000 season ... when Zimmer was brought in to bring an aggressive, attacking D into big D, only to be gauged by three straight 200 yard rushers.

They weren't all back to back, but it was Philly (pickle juice game), San Fran (Garcia, TO and the star at midfield incident), and later that season the Bucs... Dallas was also skunked by the SB bound Ravens that year (rookie RB Jamal Lewis rushed for 187 yards)...

What's even sadder about that travesty of a season was that Zimmer was retained after that pathetic defensive effort in 00... Dallas gave up more rushing yards than they ever had in their history that year... I don't see how Zimmer stays for next year due to his consistent mediocrity.

This is getting off-topic to the thread... But why does no one mention that in those Salary Cap Hell/post-Joey Galloway trade years, Zimmer had no one to work with besides Greg Ellis and Darren Woodson. What, Antonio Anderson, Ebenezer Ekuban, Brandon Noble, Peppi Zellner, Darren Hambrick, and Duane Hawthorne couldn't stop anyone?

Shock.

Well some teams have the ability to put pressure on the qb as well as stop the run. I don't think it has to be an either, or proposition.

The Cowboys defensive talent level should be much improved over the 2000 team. They should be able to add a few wrinkles to their defense to create some pressure without giving up huge rushing yards.
