Julius Jones= nothing special?

That was the league average. You can have average. I'll take above average.
Notice how JJ didn't get his 70% share of the carries?

Not trying to start trouble..but does anyone else think Julius does nothing special when running the ball? No spins, jukes , cutbacks... no vision? Just seems like MBIII sees so much more..and this is not a "start MBIII" thread. Just a few regular zoners..please comment on his performance last nite please.
Have a great day!
1-0 baby!

Jones is crap. I've side it 1,000 times. The guy has speed and speed alone will not do it. He is here till the end of the season and even if we don't get McFadden as everyone wants. Jones is gone. He just isn't worth it and we are better off trying a rookie than we are with another year of less than mediocre.

Which is nothing special.

either is lt's 1.7something yard per carry that LT had yesterday ...do you think the people in san diego are saying start turner due to he amassed 41 yards on ten carries? doubt it.

There is a reason neither of these guys were full-time starters at their respective colleges, they work best as a partnership.

JJ can remain the starter, I don't really care as long as Barber continues to get his chance to shine.

I'm definitely glad to have JJ on board right now though. You can rag on him for being mediocre, but I'd rather have mediocre than Troy Hambrick or Eddie George.

But I wouldn't be sad for the boys to pass on giving him big bucks in the offseason and looking to upgrade.

Now that he's not a robot JJ is able to showcase his terrific instincts by running out of bounds to stop the clock when we have the lead late in the game.
Post of the thread!:D
Funny...but not....

except that JJ has never even come close to performing on the level that LT has

That one ticked me off, 3 minutes left in the game and he bounces it outside and runs out of bounds. Hurd and Romo let him off the hook with the game clinching TD pass.

Is there anyone left thinking Julius aka 'Pile Magnet' Jones has a future with the Cowboys?...Miss the Tuna but this trade has to go down as some of the worst in his tenure...Should've been traded this offseason because he clearly is not going to get resigned...More importantly, is there any reason to have him run the ball as much as he is now?...I'd rather see Tyson Thompson running at this point.

Well he is here for this year we know that and as long as he is a member of this team my hope is he does well. I don't think he had a horrible night by any means last night I do think Barber is the better of the 2.

People *****ing about Jones this morning makes me think of people *****ing about paying all the taxes if they win the lottery.

Both backs had solid games. Jones' YPC was a little lower but there weren't a lot of holes early in the game when he was getting the carries. That pounding inside, a massive OL and the humidity wore down the Giants by the second half. Dallas could have scored at will. Leonard Davis pulling a school bus could have had 10 yards through the one hole Barber had and Jones went untouched for a 20 yarder but Davis probably doesn't have the speed to make that play if he has to pull the bus.

I know it's ridiculously early for projections but both Barber and Jones have a shot at 1000 yards this year and started out on pace.

That is 4 yds a carry though.

Don't you have to factor in that Jones gets all the early carries. Defenses are always tougher at the start of games. Jones gets most of his carries early in the game, then watches Barber break the longer runs in the 4th quarter when the defense is worn down and easier to run on.

that was so horrible... Jones just doesnt really add much by being the starter while Barber does!

this is one of the biggest myths on this board. all last year people kept using the same arguement, however barber started getting playing time in the first quarter the last few games.

last night he came in in the first quarter, i beleive it was the 3rd possession of the game. and i think one of the fisrt two was a 3 an out. the defense cant be tired that soon.

Barber was getting series in the 1st half of the game as well. It is not as if Dallas put Barber in on 3rd down and the second half only. I hope Jones does well but sorry he has not shown that he is better than Barber.

I agree this is lame to say Jones is wearing out the D especially last night when Barber was getting carries in the 1st half of the game and accounted for the 1st TD on the night in the 1st half of action while getting the entire series.
