C'mon, Rack, don't you know that Parcells has a 6-6-6 birthmark on his scalp??

In addition, I have photographic evidence that he's personally responsible for global warming... and I'm pretty sure he poisoned my dog...

What I find sourly amusing about all the Parcells bashing is how utterly devoid of direction this team was before he came along... apparently the critics of today don't remember back that far...

While Parcells has his warts, at least now this team has a clear direction, a game plan for getting better... I feel confident that if we're patient just a bit longer, our patience will be rewarded with a serious contender...
Whew....I mean, uhmm, damn right he poisoned your dog.

Yes, they do... Parcells took over a team that was coming off three consecutive 5-11 seasons, and in 4 years has posted a 34-30 record, had 3 seasons over .500, and made the playoffs twice...

D*MN him, for ruining my favorite team that way...

What football acumen might that be?? So far, all I've seen from you is savage criticism of a coach who has demonstrably improved the Dallas Cowboys, and has them on the verge of being a serious contender-- all while being responsible when it comes to the salary cap...

And you're suggesting that he's doing this because Parcells has trained him to do so??

Got any evidence to back up that ridiculous assertion??

When does YOUR rock head figure out WHY he might have done that??

Here's a hint-- maybe, just maybe, he was worried sick about an extremely vulnerable secondary on his own team, and trying to keep the ball out of the Seahawks' hands (thereby minimizing their opportunities to victimize that secondary) by controlling the time of possession... and maybe, just maybe, he got more and more into that mindset when the running game started working so well...

Yeah, you make a great Monday morning quarterback, but the plain truth is, his approach ALMOST worked, indeed it should have worked... and if it had, it's a stone guarantee that you would not now be in here b*tching about the tactical approach he took toward that game...

To attack the Seahawks' banged-up secondary might have worked, but it would almost certainly have resulted in a shootout, as the Seahawks would have had more opportunities to go after OUR vulnerable secondary...

You first, rock head...
I will try my best not to make this personal between you and I....but you would last about 5 mins in court with your rebuttal. 9 out of the last 10 seasons the NFC has had a different team represent it. The league is set up to make a move if you have the right peices in place. The environment we had Parcells was perfect for 5-11. Little cap room. Devoid of 1st round picks for a couple of years. A non-football person shopping for the groceries. First time head-coach (not to mention probably the lowest paid head coach). We WERE NOT EVEN TRYING TO WIN...nor could we with that as the backdrop. But for the 1000000th time...Parcells HAD a coaching resume that included a Super Bowl....Parcells has done the majority fo the grocery shopping...Parcells has been compensated very well (even negotiating a raise and an extension a year after missing the playoffs)...Parcells has had his full stock of draft picks.

Have you not read what Zimmer has said..it take the ability to read between the lines if you know what I mean. Have you not seen what Sean Payton has done....for less money, in a shorter amount of time, with less coaching experience and with cast offs from our coaching staff and roster.

Don't get me wrong..I agree our talent is improved...I agree we are better than where we were when he got here. But his approach to getting results is NOT working. The league is not setup for us to keep lamenting about how much more talented we are since he arrived. To quote Parcells, shouldn't we know what we got after 3 years. Well, from my seat it looks like we got a team that beats bad teams...loses big games...and tanks in December...loads up on LBers and TEs...builds offensive lines from the inside out (notice the money and draft picks invested on the interior of our line versus the tackle position)...suffocates his coaches, which means young coaches with upside probably will not come..or will not stay

You can think this is overly critical...but he is NOT above criticism...the Cowboys won Super Bowls before Parcells...and looks like we will have to wait until he leaves to win again.

He is holding us hostage like we are nothing without him.

Clearly their are 2 camps here...those in the Parcells camp..those that are tired of his act. So it is clear where I stand and I will cease my involvement in this debate.

what Zimmer said can be interpreted in a number of ways. Just because YOU think it means one thing does not make it true.

Well then, take your best shot at it... certainly, nothing you've written in this post is responsive to the arguments I made...

And the team is better today, far better, than it was when he took over...

Don't get me wrong..I agree our talent is improved...I agree we are better than where we were when he got here. But his approach to getting results is NOT working.

The bottom line, in the form of wins and losses, says you're quite wrong about that... which means that the improvement isn't happening FAST enough to suit you, rather than that improvement is not being made...

If you and those who feel like you do had had your way back in the mid-60s, when the Boys were perennial doormats, Tom Landry would never have become the coaching legend he now is... Troy Aikman would never have remained the starter long enough to become the Hall of Famer he now is...

To put it another way, switching coaches on a biannual basis is a TERRIBLE way to try to build a winner... it's basically blowing the whole thing up, and going back to scratch...

Is THAT what you're really hoping for?? You ready for another season or two of 10 loss (or more) years??

]quote]You can think this is overly critical...but he is NOT above criticism...[/quote]

No, he isn't... I never suggested he was... but the criticisms he's receiving in threads like this are quite bogus...

the Cowboys won Super Bowls before Parcells...and looks like we will have to wait until he leaves to win again.

I happen to believe that the best way to get back to the Super Bowl is to ride the horse that has brought us this far toward the ultimate goal... he's done it before, with multiple other teams, so why are you so completely certain he can't do it again??

He is holding us hostage like we are nothing without him.

Oh, sweet Jay-sus... gimme a break with the "he's holding us hostage" nonsense...

He's doing nothing of the sort, ALL he's doing is looking deep inside himself, to figure out if, at his advanced age, he still has the drive and the energy he'll need to go through another long, grueling season... it's the same thing he did last year, and if he does come back in 07, he'll go through the same process the following offseason...

are you kidding me? Bill is only asking Romo to be smart w/ the football and less careless w/ it, he even said that he doesn't want Romo to stop doing what he does best, be a playmaker, just don't do too much to cough up the football

That's such a contradictory statement. Of course he wants Romo to protect the ball. And of course he wants him to still make plays, but you can't have the best of both worlds, either he settles down and plays smart football and protects the ball or he takes his risks and becomes a playmaker. In the process of trying to make plays, he is going to lose some and cough up the football. But he's also going to put up points on the board.

you can try to make plays by holding the ball at the proper height when moving around in the pocket, you can make plays by hitting your checkdown receiver, esp. when it is MBIII or Julius Jones who are pretty shifty w/ the ball in their hands and are good receivers, when noone else is open, just look at what Bush is doing, you can make plays by not getting sacked for minus 10 yards, which means throw the ball away when the heat is nearing you and noone is open, or again, keeping your checkdown receiver in the back of your mind

forcing throws is one thing, but there are a number of other careless things Romo is doing w/ the football, that he could do w/o and still be able to make plays, because turnovers will be cancelling the plays he does make

JJ does not suck as much as people think, and I'm not saying MB 3 sucks, not at all, at times he plays better then JJ, but at times JJ can play better than Barber.

I think until we get some CONSISTENT blocking from our o-line we cannot judge either of these backs correctly.
As far as who should be starting I don't think Parcells would do ANYTHING on purpose to destroy this team. If he feels MB should be starting I believe he would already. I think Parcells trusts both backs in certain situations. He trusts Barber at the Goal and short yardage and JJ between the Twenty's.
