I really wanted Jackson here, but it just wasn't in the cards.

:laugh2: I remember when he fell to our pick I was jumping up and down with my brother about the fact that we were about to make the steal of the draft. Then, suddenly, I was not jumping anymore.

I wasn't happy when we traded down either.

Jackson must have had a bad interview, along with his back and his stupid agents.

Big Bill did great things for this team, but passing on Steven Jackson for Jones was one of his biggest misses.

:banghead:
And then he turned him into a robot!

Well, Jackson has been a bit of a me first guy at times so far in his career, and it's not like he's really made his team that much better either.

I think Chad Peters was at VR that day and said the word around the complex that the Cowboys weren't touching anyone represented by the Postons, which included Stephen Jackson. I don't know if he's been reinstated or not, but a few years ago, the League banned at least one of the Postons from representing players.

Yeah, I had a few friends over and we were so happy that we were about to pick Jackson and then the trade happened.

I wish him the best and hope he gets picked up by someone. The biggest issue I had with him is his lack of vision. He did a great job on draw plays but anytime the hole the play was designed to go to if it was not there Jones just did not seem to have the vision to hit any cut back lanes he would just run up the back of the lineman. Watching our current backs they are patient as they get to the line and once they spot day light they do a good job of cutting back to the day light.

Man I hated that.

Real sad thing was that in his rookie year he did it all. Then he got replaced by a pod person and was never the same.

For some reason I thought he would be a flash in the pan.

If it weren't for getting Julius, we might not have gotten Ware.

I did not like the fact that Julius blamed Parcells for his running problems. Jones own poor play is what started costing him min and yet he put it on Parcells accusing BP of changing his running style yet a few years removed and things still have not turned around.

Early on he looked like a special player. Julius at some point lost his heart. Just wasn't a tough guy.
That will happen when you move the ball all the way down the field and then MBIII takes it the last yard for a TD.

I still don't think Julius was ever used enough when he was the starter. He's always been the kind of player who gets better the more carries he gets and he's got the abillity to be explosive. I don't really like making excuses for players, but I really think BP tried to make him run against his instincts, and that has given Julius major problems. You don't just lose the talent that he showed during his rookie season in one off season.

dooms, you do remember BP's "Robo Back" comment?

Hard to keep up with all his comments but I will say even after he went to Seattle he ran the same way after a while you can't blame others for your own short coming. Jones did great on draw plays outside of that he was not impressive and was unable to see the lanes or so that is how it appeared. I have seen many RB have success under BP to place blame on Parcells for Jones own problems I'm not buying it.
