It will be Julius Jones if he is strong and healthy in camp, but let him get injured in training camp and miss some preseason games, and let MBIII play well, and Parcells will never again trust JJ as his starting RB.

You can't trust a RB to be your starter if he can't stay healthy. IN my opinion, this will be his final chance as a starter with Bill Parcells.

Julius is starting to remind me of Fred Taylor, minus the tackle-breaking ability.

There are a lot of "ifs" with Julius. "If" he stays healthy, "if" the blocking is there.

Yeah...I always liked Fred Taylor, and I always thought his career was just about over...I'm glad he hung in there and the jags hung in with him. It's nice to see him still banging it out in the NFL.

WE can only hope JJ will stay healthy...I wish he was as good as a healthy Fred Taylor. I'm really not sold on JJ at this point. We're still hoping we have a franchise RB, but I don't think I see Barber as the type of back we're used to either. WE'll be very lucky indeed if we find a Dorsett/Smith replacement outside of round 1.

Fred Taylor, I don't think, is a good comparison. Fred Taylor has had nagging injuries through out his career. Julius has had two singular things. Now if he keeps on getting ankle sprians then its time to call him injury riddled.

I have high hopes he stays healthy next year, and in that case he should get the majority of snaps that we have. Barber is a nice back, but doesn't seem to me to have the chance to be something special. I think Julius can be.

If LenDale White is there at our pick, I think neither Barber, nor Jones will start next season, at least by the end of the year. We have two decent running backs on the roster, but no very good backs. I still think Tyson Thompson should get a shot at starting.

I don't know. I'm still not sold on JJ. Everyone says that he has break away speed and that may be true but other than LT, most teams don't have that "break away" running back starting. I think too much is made about break away speed. Especially if an opposing defense is stopping your running game. Sometimes you need a running back that can enforce his will regardless if the defender is in a postion to make a tackle. That's what I saw from MB last year.

I like Barber and all of the other skills he brings to the table. What he doesn't have in speed, he has in versatlity.

I like Barber and all of the other skills he brings to the table. What he doesn't have in speed, he has in versatlity.

I don't think either J. Jones or M. Barber are starting caliber backs. I really hope I'm wrong, but neither imresses me at this point. I will say this....Barber outplayed Jones this year....whether it is due to injuries, or not.

that's crazy. he's a guy who can give you some excitement against a worn down D that isn't tackling well.... and that's good to have. but TT is never going to be a starter in this league -- he's got no moves.

the thing about julius' injuries is that they are the type that come from just bad luck, i cant imagine a guy making it this far just being flat out fragile.

think about it..who breaks a shoulder i mean seriously, that never happens.
last year, guy falls on the back of him (i think), nothing he can do its something that happens all the time

these injuries are not muscle pulls/tears or anything to do with conditioning. they are just tough luck. i see no reason why he could not go through a whole season healthy.

We need a line that blocks and a healthy Julius. Absent that, we'll continue to have significant problems
