It was a great game. It was very enjoyable seeing the Pats lose and ruin their perfect season in the process.

Not watching was never an issue in this one for me. I wasn't excited about it, but it wasn't to the point where I had to not see it.

There's only two times I've not seen the Super Bowl in nearly 30 years, and only one of them did I choose not to watch. The GB/Pats SB in '96 I had a business flight scheduled for me the evening of that SB and only caught parts of it on the radio.

The only one I purposesly did not watch was the Chargers/49ers following the '94 season. We dug ourselves that 21-0 hole in the first quarter of the NFCC game and tried coming back but came up short. I just couldn't watch Young and Rice and that group playing in a game I thought we should've been in and would've dominated like they ended up doing.

I agree. I thought it was a great game. Not many penalties not many turnovers. It was a defensive contest for the most part and it came down to the very end. I think it ranks as one of the better SB played

I enjoyed the game.

Going in, I posted that I wanted some drama and I wanted someone's heart to be broken.

Watching arrogance melt into despair and tears is always good TV.

I enjoyed the game, but it was even funnier cuz there was diehard Pats fans there.

Some of the folks there were bored, because they wanted to see more offense. Bombs downfield and such. I mean, those yahoos got excited over simple first downs.

And when the Giants won, I just sat there in my 'boys gear and just laughed at the Pats fans. Folks were celebrating as if their team (the Texans or Saints) had won.

Dude it was great. You couldnt ask for better television.

Especially that 4th Quarter. That 4th quarter was nothing short of legendary.

Giants take the lead 10-7.

Brady drives them down the field and scores a TD to make it 14-7.

Manning and Co get 1 more chance to win with less than 3 minutes on the clock and Eli drives them down the field for the go ahead score and puts the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Maybe you just dont know what great is? History was made last night. 18 & 1

I'm not sure I'd call it a top 10 NFL game of all time, but just counting Super Bowls, it's one of the top Super Bowls I've ever seen [live].

Note: This is purposely excluding the three Cowboys' 90s Super Bowls, which I have an obvious bias for. :D

I only started watching Super Bowls in 1992, but haven't missed one since. Most have been blow outs, but the ones that stand out are:

Broncos 31, Packers 24 - John Elway finally getting a ring; the helicopter spin scramble forever etched it SB lore

Rams 23, Titans 16 - What a way to end it, one yard short

Patriots 20, Rams 17 - Huge upset over an offensive juggernaut (hmm, irony...)

Giants 17, Patriots 14

Prior to 1992 (games I missed due to youth or lack of being born) I would suggest Giants 20, Bills 19, the 49ers-Bengals Super Bowls, and the Cowboys-Steelers 70s Super Bowls :(

I'd agree that the first 3 quarters weren't anything to write home about....but the 4th quarter was GREAT.

Throughout the first 3 quarters, I could have cared less about the game, but during the 4th, I actually found myself yelling for Eli and the Giants. My wife was in shock.

By the way...I've now taken 10 showers, brushed my teeth 25 times, and went through 2 bottles of Scope - and I still can't get that stinch off from actually yelling those words during the 4th. I feel dirty :(

True to my word I didn't watch it. I did see pieces here and there and had my wife let me know when the commercials were on. I got bored with those and left the room. Once it got down to the last 3 minutes I did keep closer track of what was going on. But other than the last drive for each team I didn't watch.

Don't I know it!

I'm IN NY, so in the end I was pulling for the Giants in a big way.

After the game I made it clear that next year is a different year though

Meh, bad game with a good ending. Like reading a boring book with a good ending. I give it 3 out of 5.

If you don't like great defensive play then I guess it was boring. I found it refreshing that both defense went out and played very good football. I think the 2 weeks each team had to get ready for the game helped both defensive units.

I was one of those who said they wasn't going to watch the game...but I tuned in at about the 9 min mark in the fourth! And, I must admit, it was a heck of an end to the game! I'm not sure how the first half transpired but what I saw turned out to be a pretty good game! I'm glad the G-men decided to show up and even happier that NE didn't succeed in going 19-0! Can we as 'Boys' fans take solace in the fact that we fell to the eventual champs...or does that make the pill a little more bitter?! Hmmmmmmm...

I didn't watch a snap, and you know what, I could care less that the Giants won and the Patriots lost. The wife and I had a great time last night watching a double feature at the movies (Cloverfield and Rambo), having drinks at a bar WITHOUT TV's, and chatting it up.

Based on the replays that I've seen on Sportscenter, this SB in no way is a top 10 Superbowl. MAYBE in the latter part of the top 20, and that's being generous.
