Just cannot win with this D scheme

I have chuckled for years at those who praise Marinelli. His success in TB was a product of great players (Sapp, Lynch, Rice). His success here in 2016 and 2014 was the result of a dominant running game that kept the D rested and usually allowed it to play with a lead against one dimensional offenses... but his scheme is trash. And we cannot win with it. Bend but do not break makes the players play tentative. And then, on money third downs, they really are not ready to be aggressive. Just take a look at the success of Carr and Claiborne in different systems. It's not the players, it's the coach and the system... We need some aggression. We need to blitz, not just one guy but three. Not the same four man rush and DE-DT stunt. We need to dictate, not be dictated to... Everyone blaming Dak is missing the real problem.

I switched to the Eagles game right after ours was over and there is a huge difference in the aggression and attitude the Eagles defense plays with compared to ours. It was so noticeable that it was almost nauseating. I am so sick of average to terrible defenses year in year out that can't buy a turnover or tackle properly.

This defense also looked terribly out of condition today too. It was noticeable even in the first half when they were only on the field for 12 minutes. Garrett is obviously too soft on his players in the off-season and in training camp. Oh, how I miss Jimmy Johnson.

We get Cheeto, Hitchens, Lee and Irving back next week.

That is significant reinforcements and we'll need it against GB.

We can't off the field......pretty sure we're close to leading the league in 3rd down percentages allowed ( maybe the leader )

Schwartz is an aggressive minded coach. Marinelli is a conservative coach. Schwartz wants to try to dictate to an offense. Marinelli reacts and just wants to play straight up and not get beat for big plays.

It's just that simple.

And when Wade was here we couldn't cover the middle of the field. Parcels 34 was too conservative. Zim and The Poodle weren't agressive enough and the corners played 10 yards off the ball. On and on......people are missing the issue. Yes we have drafted defense, but always as an afterthought.

Again for those who do not know or listen: WE ARE the LOWEST PAID defense in all of football folks!! All of football! And that's with a terrible contract to Crawford......
We have invested in the defense but they are all young. They have tremendous upside but are slow in development overall. Injuries don't help but some expect rookies or guys playing in their first few weeks to be all-star. Jaylon, Lewis, Awuzie, Taco, Tapper etc. need to continue to grow. We need to see improvement though from week to week and so far is been a roller coaster. Coaches have to help with a better scheme both defensively and on the offense. The young guys will come along but the coaches have to prepare better.
