I'm intrigued by the thought of having a young (young in age, not experience) head coach brought in when Parcells decides to leave.
Unless he really blows it, Payton is the obvious choice. Hiring from within is always easier than going outside the organization.

Unfortunately that also brought us Campo. :bang2:

I'd rather see Bob Stoops bring a fresh crop of assistants to Big D and coach the Cowboys as far as I'm concerned...

Another name that should make the rounds is Gregg Williams, DC of the Foreskins. He is a super defensive coach...

I also agree w/ LaTunaNostra, Henderson is a really good coach... The Jets couldn't be in better hands with him presently.

I'd like to see Stoops here after Parcells. But if you remember a couple years back when Switzer was canned JJ seemed to have a thing for this Houston Nutt guy at Arkansas. I live in CT so I know nothing about him, but can anyone tell me why JJ would be interested? Is it just because Nutt is an Arkansas guy? Because he's done nothing with that program to show that he's the next Urban Meyer. I wonder if he is still on JJ's radar for life after Parcells.

I went and looked this up, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houston_Nutt, because I couldn't remember much about his pre-Boise State days.

I do remember when he took a bunch of D1AA guys with BSU into Wisconsin and almost won.

He hasn't been the world beater Arkansas was expecting. Going in he had the rep of a super motivator with a huge upside.

I would kill to have Campo back instead of Houston Nutt.

And I want Stoops no where near this team. In my mind, the power that was OU left with Mike. Bob has not shown much of anything in big games the past few years other than an ability to get into Mack Brown and Greg Davis' heads.

Simply put, 50cent! I'd be a man of the people. I'd combine all Cowboys Fans ideas and implement those ideas into a well thought out game plan each week. You would never be able to fire me, because I'd only be doing what you wanted me to do with our storied franchise. I'd trade down every 1st round pick to accumulate numerous 2nd and 3rd round pick, to turn around and package those picks for the number 1 overall pick every year. We would draft everyones favorite college pick with every single pick in the draft. I haven't figured out how we would do this, but I promise to monopolize the draft each year. With AdamJT, I would circumvent the salary cap right under Tags nose and sign every high priced FA to ensure a SB every year. If anyone has any other ideas about how they want the newest hot coach to run this team feel free to post here after. Vote 50Cent the next Head Coach of our Dallas Cowboys, how can we lose?

The words and thoughts of this message were paid by the loyal and true fans of the Dallas Cowboys.

Good call on Kirk Ferenz. I think he ends up at Penn State though when they embalm Jo Pa. Mack Brown could go to the NFL then Texas might actually have a chance of winning the Big 12 and beating Oklahoma.

What about Dennis Franchione? Although hes not young or anything.
I'm not sure Coach Fran is all that great of a coach. I thought he was before he took the A&M gig, but he hasn't done much of anything at A&M. His first year was less than stellar. We'll see what he does this year.

This makes no sense to me. We are paying Parcells to put together a solid team that can win using his formula for years to come. And then we are going to fire everyone involved and start over from scratch with a new system and coaches? I'd say NO to that; give it to Payton and keep the same systems and players in place.

Another name that should make the rounds is Gregg Williams, DC of the Foreskins. He is a super defensive coach...

I also agree w/ LaTunaNostra, Henderson is a really good coach... The Jets couldn't be in better hands with him presently.
Gregg Williams had his opportunity in Buffalo. He blew it by hiring the absolute worst OC in the game (Kevin Gilbride). He would have to make much better choices in staff than he did up there.

And I also agree with LTN. Henderson will be someone’s HC in the next couple of years.

I want nothing to do with the Stoops, who in my opinion will have the same level of success (or worse) that Spurrier did in the NFL...doesnt run NFL offenses or defenses at OU either, just like Spurrier

on top of being vastly overrated as a coach IMO, he is an idiot...will never forget the blabbering bull he spewed at halftime of the LSU game while his team was being spanked

I'd be happy taking a run at Pete Carrol of USC....he had NFL experience when he was younger, but struggled...now he has matured, seems to have a sound Offensive and Defensive system, and while many will look at USC's possible 3-pete as a result of having talent, let's not forget that USC had been down for quite a while before he took over...he has built that program, and he attracted that talent. I prefer an NFL assistant, but when you can find a college coach who's been there in the NFL and has the experience of being the head coach, and he runs a pro-style program, I like that.

I'd take Pete over Stoops any day, but some of that could be my hatred of Oklahoma :)

I don't think promoting from within is a good idea. BP is too powerful a personality. None of this group of assistants has loyalty to each other, only to Bill. They would need to surround themselves with "their" guys to make it work. If it is Payton, Zimmer would go and vice versa. We lose alot of the continuity we are trying to keep. Just start all over with a good, strong head coach and let him build his team as he sees fit. There will be talent at least on defense here and it would be an attractive job for that reason and the fact that Jerry has proven he can give up some of the reigns.

Jim Tressel

As much as I like tressel for the victories over Michigan... Tressel's programs have all been accompanied by scandal. That includes his days at Youngstown State.. So just say no to Tressel

I don't mind Payton, not sure if he's quite ready for prime time though as HC.
HUGE Stoops fan but I'm not sure he'd enjoy the pro game. Remember he came from the Spurrier house and Spurrier failed mightily in the pros. His style just didn't work there. I'd be afraid the same would happen to Stoops.
Weis is definitely as good choice. Crennel.
Coach at Iowa, forget his name offhand. Quality though. I expect him to move on to the NFL or a bigger college program very soon as the Big 10 is only big enough for Mich and OSU, just ask Saban.
Defensive coordinator for the Foreskins. He'll get a shot probably next year...somewhere.
