and you guys are doing what New England had?

Building through the draft, signing role players. I'd say we're at least attempting. And the dividends are slowly showing.

I think there is a model for how to do it: Patriots. Snyder has been the opposite of that model.

:hammer:

But wheat's a skins fan so of course he's not gonna accept the truth.

The skins probably won't even make the playoffs next year.

by the way, those years New Englad won. They spent a fair amount of cash.

On their own players. Signed Harrison, and Dillon late. Mostly, it was a team tehy built from the ground up.

You missed the point. Shocker.

If you want to look at a team as a model of success, the Skins are not the team to look at. Look at the Pats, look at the Eagles. But, if your unhealthy Commanders envy makes you feel nice, go ahead. All their extravagant spending and they've accomplished nothing. Whoop-dee-freaking-doo.

the problem with the skins since snyder bought the team was the coaching.

gibbs has been here 2 years. he has taken this team from bad to winning a playoff game in that time.

say what you want about pre-gibbs Commanders football. none of it is relevant now.

No, they didn't.

The only two "Big time" fa's they brought in were Colvin and Dillon.

THey had already won a Superbowl w/o Dillon so that was a luxury signing for them, not a necessity.

And the Colvin signing had almost ZERO impact on them since he got hurt, severely, his first season.

You're proven wrong. Admit it and move on.

you didn't prove anything.

The Pats weren't cheap during their runs.

Except that in the salary cap era, this method of operating has NEVER worked. For anyone. Throw all that out, too, I guess. Gibbs will change it all.

Did you actually read what was written? Paying your own players and bringing them up in your system is one thing. THAT is what the Pats spent on. THAT is not what the Commanders are doing.

What a comeback. You are proven wrong.

Go back and look at their signings and the amount of money they paid those guys. I bet they paid about 1/4 of what the skins paid. Probably less.

It irritates me that we have so many Skins fans coming on this board now. Not ONE of you had the bal....errr....guts to come on here before the season started.

The only reason Gibbs looked good toward the end of the season was due to a soft schedule and strife that affected the other teams in the NFC East.

You got Philly right when the TO fiasco was going down....and barely won.

You got us after we had been devestated by injury.

You got the Giants after they had been devestated by injury.

So don't act as if Gibbs and the Skins were all amazing on everyone. They were just luckier than the rest of us.

No. We won because of the Herschel Walker trade. Anyone who tells you different wasn't paying attention.

I love when people say dumb **** like this. Tell me the EXACT players we got from that deal.

The skins had to let go of Lavar Arrington.

I don't think they have moved forward...it's more like a push.

Didn't have to. Wanted to. Big difference.

less than 1 mil under the cap.

before 04, they were over the cap and had to restructure guys.

shall I find 2003 or, do you feel stupid on how easy that was?

Don't answer that. I'm just embarased for you.

LMAO....first you were wrong, now you're just loud wrong.

They spent on their own players.

they did not go out and sign "name" FAs like candy every year.

They built through the draft.

It's all about reading comprehension.;)

Wheat you are making yourself look stupid. Name all the high profile players the pats signed

Go and read.

Tom Brady and Dillion agreed to restructure after big deals. Same with a number of their guys.

My point is that New England spent on players. I didn't say from where.

I also said I wasn't crazy with the Randel El thing earlier today.

You just proved YOURSELF wrong, Genius.

You claimed the Pats spent a lot of money on FAs during that time, then you "back that up" by showing they didn't have the money to spend on FAs?

Speaking of feeling stupid, how do YOU feel right about now?

Go back and read everything I posted.
