Just How Good Will Villiami Fehoko Be?

Hel'll make it as a ham-and-egger versatile Dlineman off the bench to round out a the DlIne.

He has size and good motor and even experience (though not at the most competitive school), but he just doesn't have the natural bend to be a dangerous edge rusher. He has a decent 40 time...but he isn't explosive. He isn't, as they say these days, "twitched up". Hence the reason he was drafted on Saturday and not Thur or Fri.

And he can't be a real DTackle.

I could see him being a situational edge guy on short yardage plays where u need a "fighter" with some heft to hold the edge...OR, as an inside guy on obvious pass downs to maybe beat a fat slow guard.

You need guys like that on ur team.... a solid #4 DEnd or #9 DLineman.

You remember that DLineman we drafted on Day 3 back in 2010, who spent 3 years with us, and notched 4.5 career sacks with us over that span, and just did his job, and then moved on to a new team with zero fanfare? Of course you don't. Fehoko is that guy. He'll be decent value for a day 3 pick!!!

He will have to pass up Sam for playing time, but probably a red shirt for Fehoko, Gallimore and Golston will have a battle behind Osa.
Can Fehoko be a 3 tech, only if you red shirt him for a year IMHO.
...or maybe two.

Hey look! It's another Pass2Run thread celebrating an undrafted player or late draft pick where P2R tells us what an elite motor, and heart the guy has...what an immediate impact he'll be... all from watching a two minute Youtube video.
Along with T-RO posting another ThreAd about data, showing us how smart he is compared to everyone else.

MOVE ON from this bust and give REAL playing time to the draft pick and UDFA WR's....but don't hold your breath. Fehoko will make the team because they will force the ball to him in the pre-season enough to try and validate him stealing a roster spot.
He is talking about the DL Fehoko, not the WR Simi.

I don't get the hype around this guy. It reminds me of when they drafted Bradlee Anae. He was going to get 25 sacks for Dallas based on his Senior Bowl performance. I am not saying they are the same player but the high expectations for Fehoko are absurd at this point.

He is a rookie 4th round pick and the odds of him being a very good players are slim. If they move him inside he will need a year just to learn the ropes. They will more than likely find a way to redshirt him and hope he comes back bigger and stronger in 2024.

I just don't see what the high expectations are based on. If I am wrong, I will be the happiest man on the planet because I think they need help inside still.

I just hope he is not one of the many mid round DL draft picks the say they got a steal on, only to not work out. Armstrong is the only one, and we still don't know about him being a starter.
But at least he contributes.
I think he was a bit of a reach, and was not needed, as they could and should have selected a RB. But I did not hate the pick either the more I seen about him.

I know he is more of a future player as in 1 or 2 years of more development. I really don't know what to expect this year, if anything. I am sure he will get some plays in. But also could see many games of being inactive, depending how many DL they keep.

The knock on him is his weight, not size per se, because he can bulk up his overall weight. But the guy has a serious motor, and head for the game. I watch him play and I see a player who may be as good of a prospect as Mazi Smith when it's all said and done. His so-called "pedigree" is also impressive since his cousin is Vita Vea. He has some serious burst off the line, and quick feet, which should serve him well in DQ's defense.

Anyone else think we may have gotten a high-caliber player with this pick?
I’m not getting my hopes up. I love his effort on tape, but word is that they’re going to try to convert him to 3T.

If that’s the case, I have to think his game day snaps will be limited as a rookie as he makes the transition.

Never heard of the guy before he was drafted. Spent 0 hours evaluating his film or anybody else's film. That being said. He'll be not as good as some say. And better than others say...

Aaron Donald is under 6-1 and was 285 at the combine. He's got one of the worst body types and is the most impact DT this decade.
Wait what? Worst body types? He’s brolic….

We will never know until we see some proof so why get this far ahead of yourself on a guy we've not seen play a snap?

I'd say his floor is John Randle.
Randle put extra weight in his pants when he weighed in with Minnesota to even be put on the Training Camp Roster as a walk-on. Yea, he was from Texas A&I and achieved the old fashioned way. He earned it!

Fehoko is potentially a replacement for 3rd round picks Gallimore and/or Golston at DT, or 4th round pick Dorance Armstrong when their respective contracts run out. In the meantime, he is depth that is being developed. Mid and late round picks take time to develop - like Armstrong at DE, and Wilson at safety. They were both initially buried on the depth chart, right up until they weren’t.
