Just how much does this improve Washington?

Their O line sucks; McFlabb is not as agile and fast as he was. By the time they improve their O line McFlabb is done.

I think it improves them by leaps and bounds. I think if they catch a few breaks they could easily win 7-8 games.

Does it make them a SB contender? No, I doubt it. But it does make them a better team for sure. This along with their other moves ( and lack of usual moves) make them a playoff contender which is more than I can say a week ago. No easy game in the division that is for sure.

This may be a case where McNabb makes the O-line better himself. Sure, he's not going to break off 20-30 yard runs ever week, but he is just as strong as ever, has the pocket presence to move around when needed, and can scramble when things break down.

I'm probably of the minority, but I think that offense will improve drastically with his presence.

They are better today than they were yesterday.

I think it helps Philly out more though. Having an extra 2nd in this draft is like gold.

Im sure if they want they can take Earl Thomas in the 1st round now too :(.

I think McNabb is a big help short term. He is much better than Campbell having said that Skins I think the skins could turn the 4th overall pick into a situation where they can still grab a QB to groom for a season or 2 behind McNabb and address problems on their Oline. I hear there is a pretty good LT on the market right now and while I would hate to see him Commander colors I think Flo would be a good pickup to help fill the gap they have on the Oline

If this team could play 4 quarters and hang on to a lead, they would've easily won 7-8 games last year. The addition of McNabb gives them the possibility of winning 8-9, maybe even 10 games, and imo puts them into conversation as 2nd best team in the division

It improves the Skins by leaps and bounds.McNabb scared me every time we played the Eagles, because of his play making ability. He alone, improves the Skins offense.

IN THE SHORT TERM...

I think it helps them because it gives them the option to trade down this year in the draft or sit there and take the best OT in the draft.

They no longer have to concern themselves with trying to move picks around to try and trade up to get bradford.

McNabb is superior to Campbell by almost any NFL definition except age.

Hate the skins, Hate McNabb but the skins are better because of the move and so are the eagles in getting an extra second round pick to use.

It was a win win situation for the teams in this trade IMO.

The caveat in all of this is the idea that it is reported they offered up Alberta Haynesworth and that could cause additional ripples with Alberta as he has already been complaining since the offseason about stuff.

Let's hope that continues to go on and it hurts the skins defense.

I don't know how much this move in itself helps, because I may be one of the few, but I always thought Campbell had some talent and they'd have been much better with Shanahan alone.

I think it mainly helps in that McNabb has so much experience and he already knows the offense. Plus, Shanny loves that play action pass rollout and bootleg, so maybe McNabb's running ability will help. But of course he can't run like he used to.

It helps the Eagles immensely. A 2nd round draft pick is almost as good as a
1st rounder, only cheaper. And the Eales get to finally develop Kolb.

On the other hand, the Skins will have an aging, slower QB who will get in trouble often because of his declining skills and thusly will throw a lot of errant passes. hardy har-har.

Love this Washington trade. Don't love how it helps the Eagles.

It helps Philly only if Kolb can do the job. It is much easier coming off the bench to be the savior than it is to be the starter where the expectation become much higher. Kolb may show he can be the man or he could fold under the pressure.

They are a lot better with McNabb and between him and Shanny they could provide a winning metality that the team was lacking. If he stays healthy they can be a threat, with that line as it is staying healthy would be a surprise.

Agree! Bottom line for me is I would rather be playing them with Campbell than McNabb!

It improves them if they can sign Brian Westbrook or a player exactly like him because...Westbrook made McNabb by taking his three yards dump passes 65 yards for a touchdown a time or sixty.

I think the Skins will be better this year. McNabb helps, they'll add Okung in the 1st round, they have a very good defense, the receivers are developing.

But losing that very high 2nd rounder when they already don't have their 3rd rounder hurts for the longer term. Plus they lose their third next yer.

With McNabb, I think the Commanders get 7-8 wins this season. So, in the short-term it helps.

In the longer-term, the Skins still need to find a franchise QB (I think McNabb only has about 2 years left), and they lose valuable draft picks to help them build a winner for the long-term.

For the Eagles, it's just the opposite. Maybe in the short-term they have growing pains with Kolb, but in the longer-term they will benefit - esp as they don't have to deal with McNabb's contract next year.

When you get an upper level QB this will help the Skins. This doesn't hurt Dallas one bit IMO.

I dont know, after watching the playoff game against them over the weekend probably not very much. I know, one game, but man he can really lay an egg out there when he's not on.
Bad O-line, less agile and still not very accurate. He could probably get them another couple wins next year. I know one thing, he'll have a very short honeymoon (if one at all) in WA.

The Eagles are young and talented at the skill positions and have the draft picks to continue to fill out that roster. With the 24th, 36th, and 56th picks (just for starters)...they could find some great contributors right away.

They are cleaning out the older guys in a sweeping fashion. They learned they didn't have enough to get over the top last year and saw it was not going to get better without some big changes. If I was an eagle fan, I'd be happy with what they're doing. It's better to clean it all out rather than bleed for 6-7 years before making the changes. They also traded Sheldon Borwn and got even more draft picks. They'll be young.
