what a pathetic thread this has turned into

notice to the morons that think ANY player missing a couple of days of shorts and tshirts is going to make or break that guys season, get a freaking clue...if Williams has a poor yr it had nothing to do with whats going on this week...

Sounds like a built-in excuse already.

dbair1967 said:
I really hope he comes back strong and has a great yr...wonder what some of these blowhard loser fans will say then? It REALLY does appear there are people who genuinely hope he sux or something

I hope he has a great year too. But I'm realistic about the chances. I can see where Roy's arrow is pointing lately and it's not up.

dbair1967 said:
and of course if by chance they do release him and he signs with New England or San Diego (etc etc) and has a great yr, the same boneheads who have wanted him gone and blame him for any play that works against us will then turn around and say what an idiot Jerry Jones was for releasing him

Tell us all about it when that happens, OK?

an excuse for what? If he plays mediocre to bad it wont be because of a few OTA practices...it'll be for other reasons

why wait, I know it's true and it definitely WOULD happen

Roy Williams is the last guy who can afford to miss any coaching or training, yet that's exactly what he's doing. Few guys have more to prove than he does.

Great first step!

Maybe throwing medicine balls in the pool is more important?

You 'know' it's true?

Any other future predictions you'd care to share with us?

Lottery numbers maybe?

I think they established he scheduled this well before anyone knew whent he OTA's would be...it wasnt like he saw the schedule then said "hey, I think it'd be a good idea to go relax with the fam then"

yeah, I do...because we have a ton of lame arse fans in here

here's a few others:

first time Mike Jenkins gives up a completion in preseason:

"see!!!! he's a freaking bust!!! we should have taken Cason or somebody else!!!"

first time Rashard Mendenhall makes a play in training camp or preseason

"I cant believe Jones drafted that bum Felix Jones"

and God forbid we somehow lose one of those early season games, especially the opener at Cleveland

"this team just doesnt get it"..."they are so overrated"

Who's 'they'?

I think it's much more clearly 'established' that players have plenty of time off in the offseason to schedule vacations. Every other player seemed able to accomplish this feat, didn't they?

So your point is that people are 'jumping the gun' with Roy Williams?

Gotcha.

Here's a prediction of mine:

Roy Williams is done in Dallas. If not this year, then next year.

And he won't be a victim of some internet fan's wrath, nor a victim of some evil media bias, nor the victim of a bad scheme or coach.

He'll be a victim of reality.

I'm not rooting for him to fail, but I think he's accomplishing that feat by his own actions.

Since when did our mods start allowing crap like this ? Moron ? Blowhard losers ? You do your sissy little name calling because people have a different opinion than you ? Why don't you just take your toys and run on home ! Nice , real nice Dave . Most of your posts are trash , but even you've hit a new trashy low .

players miss OTA's all the time, not just here, but everywhere

So your point is that people are 'jumping the gun' with Roy Williams?

no not at all, just they are vastly overreacting to something insignificant

Roy Williams is done in Dallas. If not this year, then next year.

and that very well could be...if he plays like he did last yr, probably will happen for sure...and as fyi, I am not one who thinks he was awful last yr...but he clearly didnt make as many impact plays as he usually does, and for his salary and cap charge he has to make plays

And he won't be a victim of some internet fan's wrath, nor a victim of some evil media bias, nor the victim of a bad scheme or coach.

well that we agree with

He'll be a victim of reality.

the reality is the salary cap...and the other reality is if we do cut him, somebody will scoop him up pretty quick

I'm not rooting for him to fail, but I think he's accomplishing that feat by his own actions.

and honestly that might be what turns him around...maybe it'd be a wake up call for him if he got released and the passion and intensity that he had his first 3 or 4 seasons would return...to me thats what he is lacking mroe than anything else now

This I disagree with.

I think there is too much vested on your (and others) part to see Roy Williams succeed.

What I think will happen, is that every completion that Roy Williams happens to be near, will be blamed on him.

Every big play will be blamed on Roy. A RB can bust up the weak side, juke Zach Thomas, break Newmans tackle, out run Hamlin to the sideline, then up the field and score a TD. There will then be multiple threads about how Roy Williams allowed the TD because he took a bad angle...

Roy could have a very good statistical season... unfortuantely for him, it won't be good enough.

Roy's time in Dallas is done... and it'll be because of 'perception'... not performance.

Thank you for one of the most clear-cut examples of Roy Williams excuse-making I have ever had the priviledge to read.

I'm not concerned with everywhere, just here.

Who else is missing here? What other player under contract is missing?

dbair1967 said:

Maybe to you it is insignificant, but not to everyone. To some, this is just another example.

I don't think he was 'awful' either. More like underachieving and disappointing.

And I'm not sure they'll be a line of teams looking to throw money at him either.

'turns him around' 'wake up call' 'lacking passion and intensity'

Your quotes.

Why is it OK for you to criticize the guy and not others?

Seems that you share some of the same feelings others do.

And, what, pray tell..

would be the excuses, I'm making for Roy Williams?

You summed it up beautifully right here:

Once again, Roy is the victim and nothing is his fault.

I shouldn't be amazed at the power of a thread like this to survive, but I am.

I wonder what Jerry had for breakfast this morning? It could be another ominous sign.

Thank you for one of the most clear-cut examples of selective reading that I have ever had the privilege to read.

Reality is that Roy is done in Dallas... no matter what his performance may be.

You typed about 6 sentences. Picking one of six is 'selective'?

You clearly proved the point that many have made.

And here you do it again.

Or is this being 'selective' too?

Poor Roy, can't win........

Yes.. Picking one of six would be defined as selective. Seriously? You had to ask that?

Wow....
