Nick Saban - a Parcells and Belichick disciple, and one that gets in the players cages if they mess up.
Yes and he'd quickly bolt right back to college as well. So that woudl be an outstanding choice if we wanted another new coach in a year.

Provided he could get two good coordinators, Michael Irvin.
LOL! I love Irvin but I'm honestly surprised anyone brought him up for a HC position and passed it off as serious. Something tells me as great a motivator and fiery as Irvin is he probably wouldn't be all that great an HC.
I've made no bones about the fact that I'd love to have Cowher but I don't see that happening. I've said I'd settle for Mike Holmgren but I don't see that either.
A few of the other names on the list of people mentioned really intrigued me though cause I'd never given them any real thought.
1. Mike Shannahan - Honestly I can't see Denver firing him but if they did I wouldn't be opposed to Mike cause he is a winner and proves he can get the most out of the talent he has. Plus I think with him around we'd get a much better, and much more dedicated, running game going.
2. Marty - I know the guy isn't a Superbowl champion, and he's not the greatest in the playoffs either, but he has gotten some playoff wins in his career and he does seem to be able to field a winning team from year to year, especially when he has the kind of talent he would have here.
3. Jon Gruden - I like him mainly because you know he's tough, he demands his players give it their all, and he's not afraid to bench a player if they're not playing up to the potential they're supposed to be. Look at the benching of Jeff Garcia earlier this year when Gruden felt he wasn't playing as well as he should. Wasn't a bad move, at all, for them. I know his stock will have slipped some cause of how they fell apart here at the end but I like Gruden. I'd be pretty happy with him here actually.
4. George Siefert - The guy did know how to win with the talent before him. He clearly wasn't as good once the talent wasn't there but while they had talent he was a pretty good coach and he wasn't afraid to bench a QB, even a future Hall of Famer, in a game if the QB was playing bad and the team wasn't performing. I know some will say it was more cause of the fact that the Niners were getting killed but you'll noticed that he didn't bench Rice. He didn't bench Waters.
He pulled Young for the poor performance and while Young was pissed off about it you know what, it worked. It fired Young up and he went on to have an MVP type year and lead his team to a Superbowl victory.
So I do believe Siefert at least has the chops to get some players attention. I wouldn't be opposed to him being here though I'd have to think about it a little bit more than some of the others.
