Of the available names, the one that is most realistic in my opinion is Shottenheimer.

The guy is an absolute, proven, winning NFL HC who still wants to coach, (unlike a lot of guys out there like Cowher and Holmgren who have given mixed signals about it).

I know he's snake bit in the playoffs and he's not flashy, but the guy would give us the best chance of becoming a winning playoff team of anyone out there at this time.

You do know that LaBeau is over 70 right?

What the heck, it doesn't matter much anyways.

Who cares with Jerry in charge?

You have a valid point.

I'd like Holmgren. He would be the right fit for Romo, and incorporating the WCO in Dallas might be an answer for the same old predictable ones Dallas currently runs.

As much as we all would love to get a new GM, Hell would have to freeze over before Jerry stops being our GM.

I'd like to see Spags from the Gints get an interview at least but that won't happen until Wade resigns.

I wouldn't be averse to him at all and would add...

Steve Spagnuolo and McDaniels.

I would be comfortable to with any one of them. :)

Mangini for DC??

This is of course if JJ stands by his word and keeps Wade as the HC.

My list would consist of the following if indeed Wade is gone:

1. Rex Ryan
2. Giant's DC
3. Cowher
4. Mangini

I would say Jerry Jones....I mean having Wade as HC is basically like having Jerry as quasi coach. Jerry will not get rid of Wade because it would mean Jerry giving up some of his current coaching duties.

Jerry Jones blew it because he could have hired Mike Singletary last year but of course he picked camp cupcake.

I wonder what a guy like Jon Gruden could do with this offense. I doubt he's had near the talent that this one has. He definitely hasn't had it here in Tampa.

His offense is boring, but so are the players.

He's a pompous prick, but he's not afraid to get on the players.

Just a thought.

I wonder if Jerry would throw money at Jim Johnson in Philadelphia or Steve Spagnuolo.

I would also like to see Josh McDaniels come, and bring Pioli with him and Cassel to give Romo some competition in the off-season.

Nick Saban - a Parcells and Belichick disciple, and one that gets in the players cages if they mess up.

Yes and he'd quickly bolt right back to college as well. So that woudl be an outstanding choice if we wanted another new coach in a year.

Provided he could get two good coordinators, Michael Irvin.

LOL! I love Irvin but I'm honestly surprised anyone brought him up for a HC position and passed it off as serious. Something tells me as great a motivator and fiery as Irvin is he probably wouldn't be all that great an HC.

I've made no bones about the fact that I'd love to have Cowher but I don't see that happening. I've said I'd settle for Mike Holmgren but I don't see that either.

A few of the other names on the list of people mentioned really intrigued me though cause I'd never given them any real thought.

1. Mike Shannahan - Honestly I can't see Denver firing him but if they did I wouldn't be opposed to Mike cause he is a winner and proves he can get the most out of the talent he has. Plus I think with him around we'd get a much better, and much more dedicated, running game going.

2. Marty - I know the guy isn't a Superbowl champion, and he's not the greatest in the playoffs either, but he has gotten some playoff wins in his career and he does seem to be able to field a winning team from year to year, especially when he has the kind of talent he would have here.

3. Jon Gruden - I like him mainly because you know he's tough, he demands his players give it their all, and he's not afraid to bench a player if they're not playing up to the potential they're supposed to be. Look at the benching of Jeff Garcia earlier this year when Gruden felt he wasn't playing as well as he should. Wasn't a bad move, at all, for them. I know his stock will have slipped some cause of how they fell apart here at the end but I like Gruden. I'd be pretty happy with him here actually.

4. George Siefert - The guy did know how to win with the talent before him. He clearly wasn't as good once the talent wasn't there but while they had talent he was a pretty good coach and he wasn't afraid to bench a QB, even a future Hall of Famer, in a game if the QB was playing bad and the team wasn't performing. I know some will say it was more cause of the fact that the Niners were getting killed but you'll noticed that he didn't bench Rice. He didn't bench Waters.

He pulled Young for the poor performance and while Young was pissed off about it you know what, it worked. It fired Young up and he went on to have an MVP type year and lead his team to a Superbowl victory.

So I do believe Siefert at least has the chops to get some players attention. I wouldn't be opposed to him being here though I'd have to think about it a little bit more than some of the others.

WVU Coach Bill Stewart...nah just joking, if you think Wade is a players coach you should see Coach Bill.

Some of the names mentioned are interesting. Spagnola is of course a hot name now. Marty is interesting yet another retread...but at the least you would instill some discipline. Shanahan...did not know he was even on the hot seat. Gruden might be interesting. Holmgren, you know I know jerry respects him but really did anyone see how his team quit on him this year but then again it's the seahawks and the team announced he was retiring when he did not want it to get out. Of course cowher interests me because he seems to be a good blend of a player coach and a disciplinarian. I liked the idea of Singletary with a good OC and DC under him but that is not an option since he signed an extension with the 49ers.

So who knows.

I just know I am confident in two things...

1. Jimmy Johnson is not coming back so we might as well rule that one out.

2. Don't see anyway Wade stays here as a DC after being demoted from HC. He would just rather go somewhere else to be a DC.

Adding one thing...I know many cowboys fans are also Oklahoma fans or fans of college teams in Texas. However...I don't want stoops or the other coaches from those schools as the next coach of the Cowboys.

Right now I am not sure I want any of the current big name college coaches.
