Kaiir Elam on why things didn't work out in Buffalo

DLaw speaks from both ends.
If he resigned here, he would be saying how great Dallas is, and how he thinks they can win a SB.

What he says means nothing, it is no different than Jerry when he babbles.
So every former cowboy who says the culture here is not conducive for winning championships is lying?

sure, homer

Maybe Jethro and company need to concentrate on building a team and not their yachts, money, flapping their gums, etc?
Another fan myth about the money.
But true they need to do better at building a team. And they do need to shut up. Instead of giving is stupid cute sayings and slogans.

Can’t wait for any stupid draft quotes for us to make fun of. And to see all the different opinions. Good and bad.

Yeah there's that but what I heard is that he's not as good in man to man, you know one-on-one coverage..

Hes better in zone and whenever they figured that out and they were short a bunch of corners they had to change to a zone and he played a lot better...

I'm not saying he's any good or he's going to be successful but sometimes you just send the wrong scheme you're on the wrong team and you're buried on the depth chart and you don't get as much of a chance and than thrown into the fire, but I read he's pretty good in zone not sure what we're going to play here with eberflues but they went out and got him for a reason... I mean they didn't have to give up a lot for him, but they made a trade to get this guy the new coaching staff must have targeted him for whatever reason these are not players Jerry Jones and Steven sitting have a pen and paper and go hey we need to go get that guy no somebody recommended going to get that guy.
You didn’t hear that at all.

Every criticism of him is that he can play man but sucks in zone.

Yeah, exactly.

Every player that’s left for a new environment lays blame at the feet of their past experience with the old team.

Good stuff from Elam. Gets a new start, and has experience to bring in to compete.
Transitions for backups is just slower. 5 seasons for a progressing secondary with real base talents meets this fan's patience.

Basically, the Cowboys just rounded up as many former bust 1st round picks as they could and think their coaching will turn them back into gold, or least a couple into gold.

Bold strategy, Cotton.

IMO, at best, they may get a few good depth pieces, which is fine but they won't fix any of their actual holes with these guys. Again, the strategy despite the flurry of FA signings, is this ******* organization thinks their playmakers will come from the draft. It's a flawed strategy but it is what it is.
You may not be aware, but we had 24 FA and we're already short on depth last year.

Filling a few good depth pieces IS an actual need.

Elam will get his big chance to put himself on the field and display his wares, however good they may be. It's very likely that what he has to say is quite true. The Bills are extremely talented as a team that's loaded with talent. He likely felt that his chances were far less then they will be now.

The Cowboys are in a totally different category this year, with new coaches who are likely open to affording equal chances to all comers. This team should be able to see his best efforts to take full advantage of a new opportunity with a team in great need of help at CB. He's sure to be stoked.

Fresh start is often a good thing for players in that spot. Sometimes you get a certain label by existing coaches or they want you to play a specific way that doesn't appeal to your strengths and you don't get a chance to prove you can do it. It was a low risk trade, with some upside so though it's hard to get excited about the move you keep an open mind that he atleast can be solid depth.

Why do people have to have a negative comment on everything a player says?
It’s gotten so pathetic with “fans” that they don’t listen and hope, don’t listen and give a chance, don’t listen and soak anything in. Seriously, every fan is frustrated with what Jerry has let the Cowboys become, but look at your history of posts. You’d probably be shocked to see just how negative you have become, how cynical about everything. Be careful because such attitudes can spill over into your non-fan life, it can creep into your family interactions without you even knowing it. Some need to take a step back and at least try to find something to be positive about.

If someone left Dallas and said this it would be breaking news first 5 topics they talk about on first take

Did the Romo fumbled fg hold vs Seattle happen due to culture?

Was the Dez catch/not a catch vs the Packers because of culture?

Sure, the culture could be better for sure, but at the end of the day it comes down to players making plays.
