Kareem Hunt

Lol
No way
Probably not a true minimum deal, however I could see him getting close to a vet min + incentive type of deal. RBs are not getting paid this year, D'onta Foreman only got a 1yr $2M contract. With Zeke, Hunt, Fournette, etc all out there we have no shortage of veteran RBs available. I don't see why anyone would be in a rush to sign his guy, and when they do they certainly wont pay much.

I wanted Foreman.

Possibly, but you can't definitively conclude that after one year in which he played through injuries.
Either he hit the RB wall last year or the guy officially needs the injury prone label. If we chalk up poor 2022 numbers due to injury then we have to say that 4 of his last 5 seasons have resulted in the guy being hurt. Just 11 games in 2018, 8 in 2019, a full 16 in 2020, 8 in 2021,

See what it would take to get Derrick Henry. I feel he has at least two more great years left. Let's cross the RB position off the worry list.

I thought I read somewhere last week the Browns think he has lost his explosive and lost a step.

He’s a recognizable name, but probably a better chance we’d bring back Zeke since they’re both shells of themselves at this point.

Morning y'all. Happy Tuesday.

Would you be willing to bring Hunt in for a visit? The RB room is looking mighty thin, and if something happens to Pollard we would have Vaughan and Davis. I dont see Jones making the 53. Guy couldnt even crack the roster in KC. If you cant beat out CEH. I am worried.

All you're showing me is Hunt did a lot more with a lot less touches and not being the lead guy. Thank you.

But why then did the Cowboys pursue Jones in FA ?
Why did they choose to go Jones rather than a Kareem Hunt, etc. ?

Assuming cheap price, vet experience and individual ability had to be deciding factors.

And the better choices among leftovers FA vet backs will likely be picked over about time camp ends.
I dunno what were the deciding factors with Bucs moving on from Jones- and i wouldn't think it was the lone fumble vs Cowboys.
But apparently it had to be somethin' the Cowboys brass liked to choose Jones among the vet RB free agent crop.

To me, Jones was a "just in case we can't get anyone else" signing.

Even in Tampa he was never explosive. He ran a 4.65 lol
I agree that explosive isn't the right word, but he was very productive. 5.1 ypc in 2020. If he is still able to be close to that player he would have a place.

The RB room is thin?

Pollard
Jones
Davis
Pocket Pollard

Just how many backs do they need?

I'm not suggesting their depth chart there is really good but it certainly isn't thin.

Maybe there is something I'm not aware of, but it seemed to me in 2021 the Bucs just made a decision to make Fournette the lead back, which I didn't understand because Jones had been very productive in 2020

My thoughts on being thin are. If Pollard goes down.

Doesnt look too pretty anymore.

Also. LOL at Pocket Pollard

Tbh I think he has looked different for the last two years but this most recent year was more apparent. Rb room is crowded, remaining cap will go to finding a LG imo

If Hunt comes at a manageable salary that would really shore up the RB position.

I don’t count Jones. He was just an “in emergency break glass” signing. I don’t think Jones will be a factor. He can be cut for almost nothing.

Pollard is solid but if he goes down the situation immediately goes to an unknown.

I think Deuce makes the team. I don’t really worry about Deuce being productive but it’s the other aspects of his game as a rookie that we won’t know about until he actually does it in the NFL.

Davis is ok as the third back that probably won’t see the field much, but they didn’t let Davis play much when Pollard went down so that speaks volumes.

If you can bring in Hunt cheap, as long as he is not a locker room cancer that one is a no brainer. You have Pollard, Deuce, Hunt. If any one of the 3 go down you still have a legitimate RB roster to carry the load.
