since these lovely ladies havent been mentioned i feel the need to speak up for emmy lou harris, gillian welch, allison krause, and i will throw in linda ronstadt and even rita coolidge just to name some of my favorites.
but yeah karen carpenter was so smooth......

I saw Journey here in Rapid City 3 years ago i think it was, and the guy they had singing for them blew me away. Every bit a good a Perry IMHO.

Journey was pretty good live. Saw them with Brian Adams and suprisingly good shows. Circa 1982/83. Saw Journey for last tour before breakup - was nor as good and they had the American Idol guy playing in the band, believe bass

karen carpenter was an incredible talent.

Mariah has a great voice but she basically took Minnie Riperton's notes from "Lovin' You" and made a career out of it.

Randy Jackson was playing bass for them back then. He's in a few videos on YouTube.

pat benatar and stevie nicks are two very underrated female voices.
