KC Joyner: Jacques Reeves underrated free agent signing

You just have to question some of the personnel decisions that have been made...since Bill left.

Anytime you lose a player like Reeves [25 yrs old, 4.3/4 speed] and sign an old player like Zack [who's done] then something is wrong.

Instead of drafting to replace Henry in 2009, we are gonna have to draft to replace Reeves in 2008.

We needed to draft a corner in 2007.
Zach will out perform Reeves. I'd bet money on that.

We did draft a CB in 2007, Alan Ball. In fact we drafted 2, but we moved one to Safety, Courtney Brown.

Reeves should be pretty easy to replace.

This is a nice illustration of the fallacy of focusing solely on YPA for a defensive back.

Exactly.

I'm all for stats, but I don't like it when people use *one* statistic and try to use that to prove the point. What's even more frustrating is that then some poster will then use the line "there's lies, damned lies, and statistics" because the original poster erroneously used one statistic to prove a point.

Even then, before Joyner started tossing out games willy-nilly Reeves YPA wasn't good. The stats bore that out.

Too bad he didn't include Reeves complete melt-down in the playoff game. His performance before the half still makes me ill. He really has no recognition skills to speak of.

And the face-mask penalty was just icing on the cake.

Are you talking about Henry's missed Tackle [remember the 60+ yd TD for the Giants 1st Score? It was the difference in the game.]

Lets discuss?

Hard to compare the two...face mask vs. TD?

Rich Eisen hates you

And tell me again just for laughs. Who is the better cornerback Reeves or Henry?

The discussion is simple...

Even Wade Phillips acknowledged the TD given up before the half was a back-breaker.

And Reeves was the chief conspirator. He was horrible on that drive... simply horrible. The Giants picked on him like he was a red-headed step-child.

You guys like to constantly complain about Reeves in the Giants game, but you rarely discuss Henry and the TD he gave up.

No one talks about it.

I'm one of the few that will.

Nothing strange about it.

Actually no we don't.

The problem is there is this certain poster who thinks Reeves can walk on water and it the greatest CB ever to play the game.

Clearly no one else who breathes air agrees with that line of thinking.

EDUNCE.

Reeves played lousy = worse then anyone not named Crayton. Even Roy played better (which is pathetic in itself).

Your home boy lost us that game. Get used to it.

The Texans must think he's decent but we know better :lmao:

Somewhere, sometime, lost in the mists of history, someone came up with the term, "He doesn't get it".

Eduncan, you're the living embodiment of cluelessness.

You're the only football person I know who would equate the importance of a 52-yard receiving touchdown given up in the first three minutes of a game--which, btw, was more due to BAD TACKLING BY SEVERAL PLAYERS than botched coverage (here's video WITH commentary which will not sink into your skull proving my point about the tackling after Toomer's catch, Mr. Video Guy - http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d805f4f7c )...

...against a series of bad plays by one player which directly contributed to a score before the half in a timeframe of 42 seconds.

42 seconds, Eduncan. Here you go AGAIN: http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showpo...3&postcount=28

The terms "ebb-and-flow", "momentum-of-a-game". etc. have little meaning in your Reeves love affair. Personally, I'm glad Speedy Gonzalez is gone. yeehaw.

I'll talk about it. The question is, will you talk about everything else? I doubt it. I don't think you're honest enough to do that. Here's your chance. Bring up anything you want, but respond to whatever I bring up as well. You man enough to do that? I am.
