If Zimmer replaces McCarthy the fan base will become even more demoralized. I can’t think of a hire that would create less excitement than Zimmer being named the head coach. It would be reminiscent of when Dave Campo was announced as the head coach.

Do you pay attention? You have your opinion and I have mine.
It’s not a matter of opinion or paying attention. It’s knowing what to look for and comprehending what you see. I think I’ve been over this with you already. You’re just trying to push buttons…maybe sarcasm? You still didn’t answer any of the 3 questions I ask because you can’t. It’s hard to carry on an intelligent conversation with someone who knows so little about what they are seeing.

I’m dead serious when I say….until Jerry leaves the planet, the Cowboys head coaching position is a pariah.

This is not an attractive job to any self respecting, established HC who wants to act like a real HC. You know…the ones being able to their own assistants, have control over discipline and the locker room, and having control over the message going out to the media. Those kind of coaches do not want to come here to be the window dressing and fall guy when things go south.

Besides, when are we going to all understand, this 82 year old insecure billionaire will never surrender his beloved spotlight and control to anyone ever again. So when someone throws out the name of a serious, talented HC candidate forget it.

Our past HCs and next HC will be or be like one or all of the following:
  • A retread either finished or near finished (Like McCarthy or Zimmer)
  • A less heralded assistant who no one else wants (Campo, Wade Phillips)
  • A young assistant Jerry loves so he can crow that he “developed” him. (Garrett, Kellen Moore)
  • Whoever it is, they must make JJ comfortable, not be media stars, and not object to the GM undermining them.
All I know is in their last search, they didn't want a 1st time HC again cause of Garrett needing to learn on the job. Cowboys like the Yankees under George are very much alike. Those owners are always going to be in the spotlight. It not made for everyone.

Jerry Jones can hire any head coach candidate available if he’s willing to pay the man what it takes to get him. Head coaches work for money. If you’ve reached a point you’re considered for any NFL head coach job you’ve reached a point where it’s about compensation, not “national attention”.
Being the HC of the Cowboys has more prestige than say the Jaguars. Win here and you become a made man.

You can't envision it but the way he's being supported by both sides of the football our best players in Prescott and Parsons are saying they would like to see him come back that's gonna put a seed in Jerry's head not saying that he's gonna be convinced but if you see Mike McCarthy he could return as the head coach with a new offensive staff that could be the compromise that could be the conditions they let Jerry go out and find a better offensive coordinator offensive line coach. In the story all of them across the board need to be changed out...

I'm not saying I want him back but you gotta separate Mike McCarthy the head coach from Mike McCarthy the offensive coordinator and that's what Jerry might be doing he's gonna have a hard time but we have to have a good offseason we have to have some luck this injury bug this year is one of the worst I've ever seen for the Dallas Cowboys 2020 was close but this might be worse I mean this is a attrition right here this is just terrible these guys now have to rehab and get back and overshown that is a huge blow i mean i can't even overstate it..
I don't think he gets a mulligan for an injury ravaged season. He was lucky to survive after that GB disaster. This was sink or swim for him.

Of course that's the way we think that's our opinion but we got to get into Jerrys mind does he feel like if Parsons and Prescott most of the team votes to keep them they try to run it back I mean if we're gonna have most of our veterans on contracts for at least two years maybe they just keep the coaching staff I hope not I'm just telling you remember not about what we think is about what might be in the mind of Jerry Jones..:omg:o_O

We heard the Cowboys wanted to hire Zimmer as the team's HC last cycle, but the Vikings wouldn't let him interview. In my opinion, he is the leading candidate to replace MM. He also has ties with Sanders, as he work as an consultant under him. Could also see Sanders hired as the new HC with Zimmer staying on as his DC.
What makes Zimmer so great???????? What has he done here?????????? The Cowboy's defense reeks just as bad as it did when it faced GB in the playoffs, nothing has changed, NOTHING! He was supposed to be the next great defensive mind to come in and fix what has been ailing this defense and all we've gotten are shots of him on the sideline with a pitiful look on his face that says, " What did I get myself into?".

Zimmer WILL be the next HC. You know it and I know it.
And Sanders wouldn't ever be considered simply because the camera would never show Jerry again.

Not the second, third, or fourth, but definitely the last straw for me.

Jebus KJJ is that possible?
It’s possible if Jerry isn’t happy with the other options available or the high profile candidates want more money or don’t want to be another Jerry Jones puppet. Zimmer will take whatever money Jerry offers and will work under his guidelines. Twice Jerry has promoted coordinators to head coaches.

Zimmer’s future in the NFL will be largely determined by the Philly game, in my opinion. Despite Parsons’ return to the field, The DC has had his defense playing well and giving the team a chance to win while still shorthanded on the interior and shuffling things from week to week in the secondary. Now he is down a speedy LB who is both a good at blitzing and covering TEs. Sacrifices will be made. He doesn’t have the players to stop Philly, but if he can get this defense to contain Barkley and make Hurts and those receivers beat us, then he gains a great deal of respect. On the other hand, if Barkley rushes for 150-200 yards, he may be done in Dallas and the league. Right now, I feel his stock is up based on how the defense has played in his first year with all the injuries, but that stock can crash if a running team makes us look the way our run defense has looked in previous years.

He isn't my choice, but to be fair, after a rough start and a ton of injuries the unit has played much better down the stretch. They just held a good offensive team to just 20 points.
