If im intrigued by the roomie's future im not putting him in a situation where is may have to start this year. Keep him as a third if anything. Im entirely for redshirting a qb you like no matter their pedigree though.

Weeden has no touch or awareness. He's a slightly better Drew Henson. Vaughn looks and acts more like a football player. Weeden does have a gun though.

There lies the predicament. Do you have room on the roster for 3 QBs? Do you pray he clears waivers and makes it on the PS? Do you just drop Weeden and gamble that Vaughn can start in a game if Romo goes down?

This guy sounded like a seasoned vet in the post game interview.. I'm rooting for him and really believe with some development he could be at the minimum a good back up

I like Vaughn a lot. But with Tony's back there's no way you go into this season with an undrafted rookie as primary backup.

I agree, but do you really think Weeden can win you games? I'd rather go with the rookie go 1-15 or worse and just take it as an "off" year and perhaps get some players in here. I hate the idea of losing, but I'm so sick of 8-8.

Weeded is just too careless with the football.

All the physical ability you could want but he has to throw the ball into traffic.

I agree with op. Cut Weeden.

There is enough on this offense to win even if Weeden is QB. They were close to winning last year with Orton and I think they have improved the offense this year.

Give me Ponder or Mallett if they're let go from their respective teams

why not? All we could end up with is a number one pick. We probably already have the 2nd or 3rd locked up...

Vaughan is a project, kind of like Romo was at one time - a guy from a small school who needs to be developed. If the Cowboys decide to keep him around, we need someone to back up Tony while he learns how to play at the NFL level. That means Weeden, or someone like him, although I would rather have Orton, even if he came on the field straight from happy hour. :)

smart words, but neither of these two is the answer nor neither will start for the Cowboys. "If" Tony goes down..well, with this defense i can't even be positive.

i've been banned by and ignored by the "real fans" for being a "Homer"..so yay..that would be bad.

besides maybe the line, where else have they improved? Can you improve with the same players? I suppose you can, but I'm not sure that this team has gotten better anywhere. I really hope that they have a great season, but I've been saying that while the organization finally seems to have direction it may take awhile to get there. I can see a 2 or 3 win season ahead. That isn't all doom and gloom. Sometimes you just have to hit bottom, get better draft positions and stockpile those picks into a better foundation. But we all see that Jerry is just dying to make a splash these days. You have to have a few "boring" drafts before you can do that. I still say draft more OL and some good DL and the rest will take care of itself.

So is Vaughn the new Matt Moore, Alex Tanney.....and list of other players that people hold in high regard when in reality every team in the league has a player like this on the PS?
