Why can't we trust Parcells yet? If he thought Watkins was better do you think he would be sitting?

Yea Watkins is on the bench for a reason. Davis isn't as bad as people think. He can tackle and he doesn't give up as many big plays as Watkins or Coleman. Let Watkins watch and learn, he'll have his chance next year.

I am looking at the game and I comment to a friend that Keith Davis may be f the worst starting FS in the NFL....we cannot continue to play 10 vs. 11.

Zero Plays.

Zero instincts.

Terrible angles to the ball.

NEVER the last line of defense! I see him knocked out of the play by one of our OWN LBers WAY TOO OFTEN.

I mean you cannot even make this stuff up....he is just dreadful.

He is a strong safety playing free safety. He make A LOT of plays on running downs and he is a VERY good special teamer. If you didn't notice he made at least one BIG special teams tackle yesterday.

I dismiss this thread as someone just spouting off because he is Roy Williams in coverage.

Davis right now is playing like the Davis of last year and we drafted to improve that situation. If Watkins doesnt show something down the stretch...its time to go into the draft for another one. Also - it should be noted that Roy Williams took a bunch of bad angles yesterday also. Maybe its the safetys coach.

Yeah, Bradie James and Roy Williams had so-so nights. Both missed alot of tackles and Roy especially, took alot of bad angles. On a couple of occassions, Roy ran right by Tiki Barber in the back field.

At times it seemd like those two, along with most of the defense were bowling pins bouncing off of Brandon Jacobs.

Keith is a starting caliber STRONG safety in this league but will never play there as long as Roy is here for obvious reasons. There was a reason Payton wanted him in NO.

Has anyone noticed that since Davis has been back there, there have been no long pass plays? He has kept teams from completing deep passes on us. Even if he is not a ball hawk his presence has been benificial.

He's not that bad. And you can't have a pro bowler at every position. Watkins was the one who was making zero plays back there and hurting us.

Watkins was at least taking proper angles on running plays and he chipped in with a couple turnovers. So please let's drop the "zero plays" stuff.

watching the game with friends we all agreed they thought he would screw up....but we pull that crap in the playoffs and we will be going home...even if it is against Rex Grossman...it's not like dropping so many guys in coverage was actually helping us....GET AFTER THE QB!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I the only one who saw Watkins playing vs the Giants? No, he didn't start or play most of the snaps, but he did play, so he's gaining experience...this is a good thing.

I thought he bounced up really quick after Burress knocked him on his butt !

I forgot to add the best play Keith Davis made was when he didnt retaliate against Plaxico Burress for hitting him after the whistle had been blown.

More often than not, the guy that retaliates gets the whistle.

I wonder did Watkins practice well the following week because I didn't see a lot of Watkins on the field. He needs to get more reps now because Keith is only good for drawing flags both for and against the Cowboys...LOL!

He isnt making zero plays, but I remember thinking during the game that we need more of a playmaking free safety, and that KD would be a great backup to Roy.

Well obviously BP just isnt comfortable giving Watkins the bulk of the load.

I dont have a problem with that if thats how he feels.

What I do have a problem with is having allowed those 2 guys to be your only viable options in the first place. Especially when he's proclaimed that basically without a good FS you cant really have a good defense.

Actually that is one of my biggest beefs...he is not even making plays in the run game....he takes bad angles.....the problem is HE IS NOT A STARTER....and that is ok, there are guys like him all over the NFL..he is a special teams ace...everyone needs to accept that and we need to get a starter
