The problem with the HC position in Dallas is Jerry. It wouldn't matter if the HC was Vince Lombardi or Urban Meyer, with Jerry running the show the results will always be the same.

I fully expect Jerry to keep MM, so talking about potential replacements is a huge waste of time. Unless MM declines an offer, of course, which could end up happening

I prayed all those off-seasons in the past that KM would get one of those HC jobs, Carolina one year, and Miami the next. Was so tired of his offense. Then Mike finally talked them into letting him go. If they bring him back as HC this thing is a farce.

Didn’t Jerry say McCarthy and Zimmer are a package deal? Then Zimmer said this might be his last year coaching. I still don’t see Moore coming back to Dallas to be micromanaged by Jerry and Stephen when he operates one of the best offenses in the league. He’ll have plenty of opportunities while not having to deal with these morons!

This has been my prediction for a while. Kellen "knows how things work around here." The Eagles will win at least one playoff game and coordinators from playoff teams are popular hires. And he's Dak's BFF, and Jerry always wants to be "QB-friendly." If Zimmer stays, Jerry can sell change and continuity at the same time.

Odds are great that Kellen won't be as good as McCarthy, but the MM haters will get their wish and give the new guy more leash than the guy who's been here five years.

It's a perfect setup for Jerry.

Pretty much everyone agrees with you. Except Ben Johnson. I don't think he would EVER come here. There's no way he's working for Jerry and no way Jerry gives him the power and authority he wants. The Detroit franchise hates everything about the Dallas franchise for some reason and there's a built-in disdain for Jerry. It might be Dan Campbell

Sure, but even if he didn't want any control his salary demands are way more than Jerry would pay.

We got Parcells only because of the stadium.

Jerry clearly doesn't respect the position of HC and he won't pay more than 4-5 million a year.

Put it this way, no coach who has an option will come here. Think about it, McCarthy is the 2nd lowest paid HC in the NFL, only one lower is the dude in Cleveland. McCarthy also has to deal with the meddling of Jerry Jones and has no say even in who his assistants should be. Does anyone think that Bill Bellichick would work in this conditions? Ben Johnson? Vrable? No person in their right mind that has an option will consider the Dallas Cowboys as a premier HC-ing destination.
