He should have started his career as the passing game coordinator at best.Kellen has his faults..- that he still puts on display.
One that continues to limit this team is, .. he is just not good at designing the RB in the pass game.
It makes us much more easier to defend, and teams can better play back into heavy zones and not fear what happens underneath.
Our quick screens to the RBs sux, … where our OL were once comfortable and specialize in it per 2016/2017 zeke/linehan dayz, it looks like clumsy and sloppy
and non-coordinated under Kellen, who just does not emphasize it enuff to develop it properly,. So he ignores the RB screen and prefers those bubble screens instead.
- Pollard remains a non-factor in pass game whereas with his skill set and explosiveness, he should deadly McCaffrey-Kamara like.
Even the Run game design is really bland that offers little to no misdirection.
- And I believe teams are (have been) catching up to Kellen’s route design and tendencies.
and with any offense, OC, you have to be able to further evolve and expand.
And stay ahead of “blueprint’ defenses- to which KMoore just does not know how to adjust.
- But for all of his faults, I credit him for staying with the run vs Philly, and that actually helped us get right back in competing late game vs Philly.
However I’m assuming that was necessity for Cooper, that he would not do with Dak.
In fact, my concern is that once Dak returns, - Kellen will go right back to pass happy Dak, and only partially use the run game.
I said it when he was hired that he is green. He has to take his lumps. He has to learn and he will get schooled and make mistakes. That's exactly what has happened. Further that he didn't have a mentor, learn good and bad from a good OC or head coach. He learned from linehan who was a 90s relic and Garrett (need I say more). Hopefully that promotion has not stunted his growth as an OC. But normally when you jump to a position you are not ready for, the learning curve is longer
