Kellen Moore is clueless

gee, is that not for a good OC to figure out how to do? Especially a 'boy genius'?

We have learned years ago that Moore's "genius" only manifests itself in passing plays. His play calling in the ground game catches the short bus to school. If Zeke and Pollard weren't so ridiculously talented we might not have a running game at all.

Stupid post. It's one game. Play calling wasn't the problem. Execution, turnovers, penalties, defense that couldn't shut down a good offense. Did you even watch the game?
Totally disagree. Those things were issues as well but that doesn't mean some of the play calling wasn't crap. The play calling after the half was different and that's why Rush looked better. Everything was simpler. The rollouts, the shorter passes, the comeback routes, the TE's after faking blocking running out into space. But, the defining moment of that game was rushing to the line on 4th and short in your own territory. They said they rushed up because they thought they had the first but yet when they realized they didn't have the first they still rushed it even though it was 4th down. They should have waited and checked the replay. Didn't we all know there was a good chance CeeDee had the first watching it live? We wouldn't even have needed to go for it there if we just tapped the brakes a little and then reviewed it when it was obvious he had the first. But you could tell Moore had that exact play practiced and planned and was going to use it first chance he got without being aware of what else was going on. You rush up to get them off balance and run it up the gut or QB sneak, not to rollout out and throw it. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Anyone defending that 4th play call (not the decision to go for it.. I was fine with that..should have challenged the spot but even despite that) but you MUST run the ball in that situation.. either HB power or QB sneak.. or an RPO toss.. or put Pollard and Zeke in and make a decision at the line.

You simply MUST run it.. for two reasons.. one it is very hard to totally stuff a run play.. second if you create a big pile it is very hard for line judge to know exactly where to spot the ball and it usually favours the attacking team.. and third, Zeke has consistently and repeatedly shown that he will get you a yard on demand.

It was another woeful..beyond woeful.. call from Moore. he must be fired. Guy has absolutely zero clue how to plan a run offence and it costs us game after game after game.

Make no mistake.. Kellen Moore is a BIG reason why we lost to the eagles.. Went back to his pass happy, I'm too smart for school.. BS play book. Put us behind the eight ball all game. We then RUN the ball to claw our way back into the game.. and then (with 7 minutes on the clock and only 9 points down) he goes pass happy again.. after we had made 30 yards in a minute running the ball in a balanced offence.

The guy is just a shocking OC.

One of the worst play calling decisions was Moore deciding to throw on 2nd and short early in the game.
I was just going to say this. That play call, the ceedee block in the back penalty, and the fowler offsides doomed this game from the start. Those 3 things cleared up its probably an entirely different game.

When your HC says has going to fix the penalties in the offseason you know you are in trouble. He should have been fired on the spot for that comment. Kellen is another matter all together. Running to the line in your own territory to run a bootleg pass when its 4th and inches is beyond dumb.

Play calling wasn't the problem, but it was a problem. It's not a good idea to have a QB with a weak arm throwing screens out to a receiver standing still. You're lucky if the ball gets to Lamb before the defender gets to the ball. It seemed like most of the plays had our guys running right into the teeth of the defense.

I've never been a Moore detractor, but for the most part, he's very predictable.

Soon as Dak comes back, him and Kellen will be wanting to throw it 40+ times a game again and getting confused/outsmarted by good defenses.

The problem started upfront. Rush was out of sync most of the game and a lot of that had to do with pressure. The last INT Rush threw was actually a good play call, but the pressure caused and underthrow.

I didn't hate the playcalling last night - Moore is an easy scapegoat. Our O-line is showing it's issues right now. Tyron Smith would be a huge upgrade on the left side.

I really hope this isn't the case. I wish we'd stop using Dak like he's prime Rodgers and Brady. Get back to basic ground and pound football with the two header Zeke and Pollard and use Dak more like we used him his rookie season.

I don't know if I even give him a break on the passing plays. No quick slants when we need to pick up a 3rd and short. Heck, little to no slants period. Screen passes to WR's that never work. RB screens that are nothing short of embarrassing to watch. Everything thrown out towards the sidelines. Abandons the hurry up offense when it is working effectively. The list goes on and on.

we went 4-1 with a garbage OL, bellow average receiving corp and an undrafted back up QB that we cut less than 2 months ago.

I'm not trying to tell anyone he's great but the fact that the offense only cost us 1 game in this 5 game stretch is impressive
