Kellen Moore tenets

my opinion. Moore is pretty darn good at the passing game, and the gimmick game. Both of these are needed at times.
I think he is average or below at the run game. He has zone blockers not man so he can't just run load left and load right - he needs to setup runs as well as passes. He is weak at the screen game.

Good mind and good OC yes, but not great. Several QB's like Brady, Manning, even Romo seemed to see the D better than Moore does.
Good coaches script the first X number of plays so they can see what works, and then hammer the grouping that works and force the D to change. I sometimes think the NFL gets to smart for themselves.

I have no clue if he can discipline, motivate, has any clue about defense, or could command respect which are major traits a head coach needs. Can he evaluate talent like was Jimmy Johnsons strength - along with discipline? So I think he would have some growing pains to be a head coach at least and at worse, he can't do the discipline or motivation and ends up a horrid head coach.
I agree have no idea either regarding the things you listed.

I think poor execution is part of the problem. But the play calling, especially on running plays has been very suspect.

So how do you call a successful run play with a back like Zeke that doesnt have the speed to get outside, a defense that knows it, and a line that cant block?

Bring in a speed back. Wait, TE's can't block and seal -- that might make it a little tougher.

Better setup plays with quick traps inside if you want to make it work with Zeke, and use more McGovern as a TE to seal when you go outside.

Yep.......blocking fails, outside run is there, Zeke hesitates because he knows he cant make the edge, dives inside for 2 yards so he doenst lose 5.

2nd and 8

I am more concerned about his choppers.
Blimey, what fangs.

th

Irvin had his scissors and Kellen has his tusks!

As long as the OL can't run block and can't pass block, the offense will be quite unable to function. Let's just see what develops with Williams back at LG. Hopefully, the running game will improve if the refs settle down with the flags. Who knows -- perhaps the time off might serve Williams well? We'll see.

Anyway, it's practically impossible for Moore to devise workable plays if the OL falters repeatedly. Let's not blame him for circumstances he can't control. First things first. Solving the OL's problems looms large on the future of the offense. There's no getting around it. Good luck to Connor Williams! Here's hoping he perseveres admirably, assuming he returns at LG. May the lurking, picky, kneejerk refs have mercy. ;)

Moore seemed good at calling pass plays but even those designs seem to have suffered the last few weeks.

I was quite impressed with the overall team speed of the Chiefs and Chargers watching the Thursday night game. And their players are skilled and physically optimize their positions. So well coached! Our team has some of that but not all of that.
