Like the rest of you..

I have been watchiing this off-season to see if this team is worried about this team's ability to improve on 2018.

I definitely have to say that while the FO came out and said that Garrett is under pressure to do better than one playoff win..

what we see happening is saying something else.

Many of us took this to mean Jason's job is on the line.

But is it really?

I think not.

Firstly, the fact that Kellen Moore has replaced Linehan as the OC is a huge risk.

If he struggles, Garrett is probably fired.

The probability is that Garrett will now do more of the playcalling to minimize any risk of Moore struggling.

If the FO was really concerned about Garrett not being the HC going forward..

then they would never put Moore as OC, a rookie OC of unknown quality.

The FO is taking the long view with the staff.

Otherwise, they would go out and bring in a proven OC to run the offense.

But they are not.

Somebody like a Norv Turner or a proven coach from another team that has run a pro offense.

Nope.

Offense is the engine that drives this team.

But defense is where the FO is turning its attention now.

The draft is going to be defense heavy.

Otherwise, we are locked and loaded and Garrett is safe while Moore cuts his teeth on offense and the defense gets rebuilt more under Kris Richard.

So for those that want upheaval becuz Garrett does not fit their vision of who should be HC..

sorry to break bad news to you.

Garrett is the only HC we will see for the near future.

At least thru 2020.

Just my 2 cents.

Let Boy Genius II call the plays without The Red Menace butting in.

I don't think the FO is interested in Garrett being OC. Been there, done that. Maybe as a midseason emergency, like if they had dumped Linehan midseason, but not as the plan for a coming season.

I think this is the last year as Garrett as HC for the Cowboys and he will be pushed up to the FO work McClay on personnel. Sean Payton will be the HC next year as JJ right a wrong he made several years back

Dallas will win 9-10 games sneak into the playoffs and Garrett will get an extension.

We will see on Moore. Not buying the hype.

Jerry has finally come to the complete realization that Garrett is good for nothing but selected managerial and organizational duties. He has been completely neutered from the offense.

I just think that he wants to make as little changes as possible and he thinks the Cowboys are close. He is afraid that replacing Garrett with a new HC would cause too much change. So either way he is giving it one more year to try and hold on. IF the Cowboys do well and Moore flourishes then he can justify keeping Garrett for the sake of continuity. If they fall on their faces or not much changes then bringing in someone to take them to the next level would be more palatable.

Garrett needs to deliver a really good season with a pretty good team. If he does, it’s another five year extension and five years of me making fun of all y’all who can’t stand it.

That would only mean our little kid brother did well with the offense...:D

Garrett is capable.

Players need to play with urgency.

That game against the Rams everybody wants to point to as being such a failure was.

But we were playing the same as we were playing all year.

Except we looked tired and worn down in that game after finishing 7-2 to get into the playoffs.

What should have been learned is the importance of Home field advantage.

You do not succeed without that on your side.

Playing one less game at the end of the season and forcing the other team to travel is critical.

Anything less and you are just whistling in the graveyard.

NE knows this.

When we were winning world titles..we knew it, too.

Have we learned this yet?

“Playing with urgency”, especially when it’s win or go home, is dependent upon the quality of the coaching and preparation.

Jason Garrett is a slightly-better-than-average HC. His record says so.

I don't think the organization hires Moore as OC if they had no intentions of him calling the plays and bringing his own ideals to the table. I fully expect to see this offense implement some things we have not done in recent years. I can't say if it will work or fail, it is up to Moore to get the offense to buy into what he wants from them.

I have been saying all along that I don't think Garrett is on the hot seat unless he botches this season up horribly. I really don't buy into the narrative that he has to win or else this year.

The guy has won 3 out of 5 NFCE Chanpionshios and the team as a whole is getting better every year. The only "bad" year we have had under Garrett was the year Romo went out and we had Cassell, etc as QB.

There have been a few tea leaves that indicate that may have changed, but I'm not buying in to that idea yet.

Please......... Moore is nothing more than a scapegoat. No one expects him to do well, and when the season goes to hell he will get the blame and the pink slip while JG slides by yet again. Jerry set it up this way on purpose.
