Kellen Moore. The key to Garrett remaining the HC?

More importantly, it will be Moore's fault because of his inexperience. Garrett always got a pass because of his inexperience. No one else gets the same excuse, and never will as long as Jerry is still calling the shots.

Players need to play with urgency.

That game against the Rams everybody wants to point to as being such a failure was.

But we were playing the same as we were playing all year.

Except we looked tired and worn down in that game after finishing 7-2 to get into the playoffs.

What should have been learned is the importance of Home field advantage.

You do not succeed without that on your side.

Playing one less game at the end of the season and forcing the other team to travel is critical.

Anything less and you are just whistling in the graveyard.

NE knows this.

When we were winning world titles..we knew it, too.

Actually, the players were getting whipped because they were out schemed on both sides of the ball. This was due to the fact that our coaching staff sucked and were CLEARLY out coached. They put the players in a position to fail ans that is exactly what happened. You would have to be blind not to see it.

The key to Garrett remaining HC still completely rests within the pickled brain of our 76 year old owner/GM. That’s not a comforting thought when you consider the type of “football logic” Jerry used to hire Garret in the first place. To somehow believe after 8 full seasons and 2 playoff wins, Garrett is going to miraculously morph into something he has never been is just typical Jerry.

I think this is the last year as Garrett as HC for the Cowboys and he will be pushed up to the FO work McClay on personnel. Sean Payton will be the HC next year as JJ right a wrong he made several years back

what is the man crush with Payton, he won 1 SB with a hof QB.

to be fair, 8-8 is going to make a lot of these fans happy.

that is the worst-case scenario, IMO

the FO hiring Moore has two consequences:
1. Moore is the real deal and makes the team better, they get to the NFCCG
2. The team falters, Moore and Garrett are gone, Dallas wastes another year of the youth of their very good players

So, the FO looks like genius' in scenario 1 and in scenario 2, they start over with someone new - the fan base will be excited in the off-season next february

To me..

making Moore OC is a poison-pill scenerio.

Either he succeeds and Garrett gets his extension..

Or the offense dies and Garrett and Moore are gone.

But I also feel the FO is not being genuine about their concern with Garrett's results.

With Moore as OC..

it's another reason to say let it go another year and look for some improvement becuz Moore is a rookie at the job.

if the resign Lawrence are not they have set this team up really well and if they stay healthy they should be playing in the nfc championship game but they wont from the head coach down their staff is just not good enough

I think JG is coaching for his job. You don’t let a coach get down to the last year of his contract if he ain’t at risk usually they at least add one year to the deal to keep him from being a lame duck. A coach in his last year with no extension makes it harder to sign good players and to hire staff. Players don’t want to sign not knowing what system could be run in the future with a different staff. Coaches don’t want to uproot their family if they might be out of a job by the end of the season might be why Moore is the OC others saw the writing and turned down any interest. I think for the first time JGs job is on the line.

And what exactly is Garrett capable of exactly? Its certainly not offense as he has been kicked to the curb 2 or 3 times now. This time by a one year QB coach, first time signal caller. LOL

And this was DEMANDED by Jerry publicly. At this point Garrett is as far away from the offense and gameday management as he has EVER been with the squad. Pretty much been reduced to figure head, speech giver, schedule planner.

Please......... Moore is nothing more than a scapegoat. No one expects him to do well, and when the season goes to hell he will get the blame and the pink slip while JG slides by yet again. Jerry set it up this way on purpose.

Garrett will be resigned barring a complete collapse. But I fully expect a good season out of the Cowboys. Heck with Linehan gone and Garrett further away from the offense, things are looking up.

I have higher expectations for the team than you do, Roy. I’m the one putting the emphasis on the actual issues in Dallas.
