I am not that down on Moore especially when you look at the rest of the league and see the backups. I do not like Sanchez, his head is not always screwed on correctly when playing IMO. Watch the Patriots and what they do with their situation, aging QB, and several viable candidates in waiting. I bet they trade one or both of those backups.
You make a good point about Moore possibly following Linehan. In a fantasy world you have a great backup, but these days that is rarely the case. I take a smart guy who loves football like Moore over someone like Sanchez.

I can't blame you for not liking Sanchez, but I think his talents far outweigh Moore's. Moore lack of physical ability severely limits him.

And of any criticisms you can make of Sanchez, I don't think "not loving football" is one of them. I've never seen where he 'doesn't care' about the game.

We wouldn't even be close to 8-1 with Moore and Romo would be absolutely suiting up to start this weekend.

Thankfully for the Dallas Cowboys we don't need to worry about wasting any more time on the project of Moore that was never going to pan out anyway.

Moore is here because of Linehan and he knows what Linehan wants to do. He was never a 'project', he was a backup that had been under Linehan for a few years in Detroit.

Wasting time is getting backups like Cassell and Weeden. At least with Moore, philosophically the team he practices with understands what Linehan tries to do.

We are doomed if Moore is the backup next year. Romo will be. Jerry's not giving him away for peanuts just because fans don't like his contract.

Romo is simply too valuable a trade chip to not spend on building a better defense to complement Dak and Zeke. Our foundation for a dynasty is now. There is no time to waste.

The scenario of the Seahawks injuring Romo only to have Dak knock them off in the playoffs has me salivating.
You and me both part of me wants to say that Avril's hit was dirty but the other part of me says it's football and those things happen having said all of that it would be great if that scenario happens in the playoffs.

So many dominoes had to fall to be in this position: the trade offers for Paxton Lynch and Connor Cook fell through on draft day, Kellen Moore broke his ankle, Nick Foles chose the Chiefs over the Cowboys, the trade for Josh McCown fell through, and finally Romo was injured in preaseson. Maybe there is a little bit of destiny in this 8-1 start. I just hope the Cowboys continue to play excellent football.

I hate that he got injured, but I think Dak would still be the starter over him.

Moore reminds me of Flutie, great passer but a bit on the small side for a QB. Good pass blocking and being able to role out and passing on the run is essential these types.

At least Flutie could run around. Moore can't do that either. I understand about all the intangibles, but the player is not physically capable of being even a quality NFL backup.

Which one? Dak doesn't exactly sport a cannon.

That's overrated though. Joe Montana had a noodle arm. A lot of big arms fail miserably in the pros.
Dak, Montana, have similar arms. Moore has a pea shooter.

We will have to agree to disagree on this one khiladi.

Moore is, was, and always has been a waste of time.

I don't know if I agree with that Denim. I think the only thing that Dirty Sanchez is better at is arm strength.

And he's actually won games in the league. Something that Moore has not really been able to do in the spots he's had the chance to do so.

Tbh @Thomas82. I think the team really wanted to reshirt Dak at the beginning unfortunately both Romo, and Moore got injured with Romo being the biggest injury when Moore got injured in camp imo opened the door for Dak to start. I originally believe that the plan was for Moore to start due to his knowledge of the Garrett/Linehan offense with him at QB this team isn't 8-1 but I also believed at some point this season Dak would've seen the field anyway as a starter due to Moore struggling would he be the same Dak that we're seeing now late in the season not very sure it just a scenario though.

I liked Moore some but no way he leads this team from behind against Pittsburgh and Philly not to mention he most likely doesn't beat GB either.
Yep a lot of those plays Dak made in those 3 games Moore doesn't make those plays and the team is 0-3 against those teams.

How was the plan for Moore to be the starter? Moore was hurt in early August prior to Romo's most current injury.
