Not really.. God made more than one good quarterback. Maybe not enough for every team to have one.. but more than one. Herbert could ball out just because he will have the benefit of a new playbook that teams have never seen him run. Oh yeah.. and he has loads of talent. It would not surprise me at all to see him put up numbers.. Until the playoffs when the better DCs will have film on him in Moore's offense and a book 3 volumes deep on that offense itself. Now if the Chargers average 35 ppg in the regular season AND 35 ppg in the playoffs I will sit up and take notice.
The points stats are impressive but also misleading.
The Cowboys offense scores 31 against the Bucs and 12 the next against the Niners
I don't need to see Herbert's offense average 35 in the playoffs to be a success......Daks offense averaged 21 in the playoffs and that's with the benefit of playing the 8-9 Bucs
The real thing to see with Herbert's offense is of it will be CONSISTENTLY effective
We didn't have that here....and we all hope that will change
