It's exactly why I never wanted to get rid of Amari Cooper. If we had him and a running back, I think this offense is top 5-10, despite the issues up front.
we were top 5 lst year and the previous year the only difference in team is the line got worse and we lost pollard. replacing Gallup with tolbert is a push at worse probably a improvement. So yes we could use more playmakers on offense but the line is way worse I didn't expect that

This current Cowboy has proven that it's way understaffed to be competitive in the NFL. Way too many holes to fill to compete with the BIG DOGS, so this team will just sit on the porch and wag their little tails and wait for the scrub teams to wander! Those are the only teams that this Cowboy team can hang with...................

your myopia about the OL is astounding
What myopia?

The OL isn't good, but it doesn't matter because the Cowboys are running into negative fronts. You can't go trade for an OT right now an improve anything, you can trade for a WR and make marginal improvements.

You people think you're so clever by just making things up lol

Of course it's true.

Even had the Cowboys scored 2 or 3 TD's they get drilled. No running game means there would have been 40-45 pass attempts. We know how those games turn out. BTW Tolbert is a legit WR.
that's what i've been saying even if the offense would have played a little bit better... that defense was going to have us run out of the building anyway would have taken an effort like last year's Seattle game dont punt ,score on every drive,. that a BIG ask with no run game and a leaky OL and not much effort from the WR group.

Far too often against better Offense we are run out of the game by Halftime , hard to play Offense knowing you have to play perfect to win..been that way for while many of the Nolan and Quinn era defenses been curb stomped far too often but we always go back and blame Dak and the offense.

Taking out CeeDee is the obvious strategy to take against us, especially with the run game feeble.

Though I'll give it to Rico. He's managed to be almost an average NFL starter. Good receiver for us too. This is more than I thought he had in him. Good for him.

You have a player who just whipped your a______ telling you the offensive problems and some critics STILL refuse to accept it more than just Dak. I'm 100% confident the entire league is seeing the same thing but critics say Dak has enough help. :banghead::banghead: honestly, I think most of them are just trolling coz we have seen they are smarter than this.

This is why it's personal with some ...........

They were forced to trade for Cooks last offseason because Dak was dreadful in 2022. It seems his skill set has plummeted this year. Either that, or DCs have figured out that QB1 can't get the ball to him over the top, and are designing coverages accordingly.

Losing Pollard I think was a bigger blow than most are recognizing. No threat to beat defenses with the run and no threat to beat them over the top allows defenders to creep closer to the line and shut down short to mid-range throws...Dak's bread and butter. No threat of the run also allows defenses to bring the heat just about whenever they want.

Consider the Steelers game vs the Lions game. We were able to run on Pitt, and that opened up the passing game enough for Dak to make some plays and win the game. Last season, Pollard wasnt great in short yardage, but he had the jets to take it the distance. Defenses had to account for that. Not so much with Zeke and Dowdle. Also consider Dan Quinn's defense while he was here. Ferocious when they could pin their ears back. Soft as Charmin when forced to play the run. That applies to every half decent defense in the league.

FWIW, PFF has our OL ranked 15th, right around the middle of the pack. They haven't been world beaters, like they were in Martin and Smith's prime. They have done enough to allow the offense to function better than what we've seen. The Cowboys are lacking firepower. Nobody fears this offense outside of Lamb. That's a huge problem, and we're seeing the results on game day.

Maybe they can get Ferguson going. Threaten the seam and linebackers will be forced to back off, opening passing lanes over the middle. Otherwise, they're going to need to address WR and RB through FA and the draft. Not such a great thing when the defensive trenches need help. What a mess....

More confirmation that no team respects any offensive weapon we have outside of CD. Everyone in the world can see these glaring problems but our own GM.
You really don't see what Jerry's football philosophy is?

Getting Davante or Amari here is just "progress stoppers" because Jerry himself has told everyone to just wait until the great young players we have here shine.....what a putz.

To me, taking a pass in the trading deadline tells me Jerry knows this team needs more than one player to make a difference.

That's a fact. I can make the case that they need 4 new players on defense and 3 on offense at a Minimum

This roster deficiencies belong to the man that says " the buck stops with me"
