We get the ball after halftime and TO catches his 1st pass for a 9 yard gain. We are around our 40-43 yard line. We can not gain another yard on 2 running plays. IF we go down and score it's 28-17 or 24-17 and we are in control. The play calling was terrible after the TO catch.

You misspelled "execution." If you can't gain 1 yard on two consecutive runs, it's not the coaches' fault.

Blaming the coaching staff is too easy.

Look at the players. The players that gave up 3 HUGE passing plays.

The players that turned the ball over twice in the first few minutes.

That's what you need to look at.

Not the fact that our team can't pick up 1 yard on 2 trys.

Our team blew it. Period.

Missing in the discussion of failed plays is a run by Julius Jones. Instead of going up the field and making the extra yard for a first. He cuts to his right and gets stopped short of the first down. We then fail to convert the first down.

Anyone else remember this?

So many missed opportunities. Sigh.

Guess we'll have to take it out on the Texans. :D

you are exactly right.... everyone blames the stubborn old coach.... it wasn't him out there with his big tits trying to run down two receivers who torched us for long TD's!!!!!:laugh2:

that wasn't the coaches fault!

correct!

im pretty sure the big plays of the game were the fumbles that caused us to basically start the game down 10 points

I do agree with you ,players have to make plays, but to contine to call the same plays they can't execute is questionable.

I do remember when JJ tried to go outside instead of cutting up to get the first down.

Ugh. That's a horrible mental image. Shame on you. Shame. :(

That was second-and-1. I don't have a problem with that, because it could have been a big gain. If he had done it on third-and-1, then I'd say he was at fault.

I don't understand why we rarely try to stretch the field on 2nd and shorts. I don't have the stats, but I don't think we do it enough from my impressions. It's not like you're being overly aggressive by doing that. If you can't consistently convert 3rd and 1s or 2s, then you don't deserve first downs.

Funny, others on this website are complaining that the play calling was horrible because we got away from the run .........

Seems the coaches had no way to satisfy the fans.

I have a problem with that slow developing stretch play with a slow QB!

Do you even know why teams run a strech play? It isnt to run toward the sideline but to allow some cut back lanes for the RB. Now take a looke at Indy. They run that play alot. Now look in the mirror and call yourself stupid after making that slow QB remark.

This is a classic team loss. The Eagles got 10 points on turnovers early ( Got a TD off McBrairs fumble and 3 points off an INT by Bledsoe ). Came back to take a 14-10 lead..Everytime Dallas got the lead the Defense gave up big plays.
