Kinda missed J.J. tonight

Overall I was pretty happy with the defense.

I was happy to see us do some of the double A gap blitzes like the Vikings do but I'm disapointed with how most of our blitzes are just so telegraphed and not even worth doing.

We would have got stomped if there was a better offense in this game. Only player I missed was Mo. Mo and Lee make this defense tick, the rest are expendable.

Still too many wide open players for my tastes. But I will give them credit.

For all our gaffes and penalties, fumbles on offense and letting their offense get the ball back we held them to no TDs going into the 4th quarter, and 9 points until the late TD drive, which was not good.
But still they hung in there.

I will say even if there was not a hands to the face on the 2 point try, Bradford would have still thrown that a bit high to be incomplete.

I thought Church looked good. We also played a lot more zone early on. But with the Vikings insistent on the dink-n-dunk we started to go to more man. Just need to get Mo back healthy.

Why in the world have I seen multiple threads talking bad about our defense tonight?

Sure they have their limitations and the Vikings offense sucks but this is their best game of thE season.

15 points when we had an offense that struggled to stay on the field(mostly due to penalities) and two horrible turnovers is a win in my book agaist any NFL defense.

I personally feel if Minnesota had a slightly better offense, this win is either closer or the team is fighting tooth and nail for the win. Its great Minne sold its offense for a great D but just a better TE here or a RB who kills defenses and some fans are seeing where this gets ugly in a hurry. It didnt, but its always on the back burner. Thats my opinion tho

I couldn't have said it better

I'm not sure what's the point of this post . I can say the same thing about how we could of stomped a worse defense.

There aren't any teams that has a great defense like the Vikings and also have a good offense.

I know the bar is low with Wilcox but he's played well this year. Seems like we missed ol' J.J. tonight, especially with those crossing routes and short passes that were completed.
I did not miss him, not one bit. Honestly he did not cross my mind all game and just until now I forgot he was on the team. Wilcox can not cover or tackle to save his life granted he does have like 3 or 4 big hits recently.

I can see a scenario similar to Larry Brown with Wilcox.

Cowboys get to the SB and the opposing QB throws 2 interceptions directly to Wilcox. On both picks their was not a WR within 10 yards of the pass. Wilcox is named MVP and he signs a 5 year 40 million dollar contract with the Washington Commanders where he gets exposed, something we already knew.

I will take that scenario as anyone of us. Wilcox would take that scenario, he gets a big contract and we get another trophy.

Seems like JJ sets the tone with his physical play and it gets everyone else on defense all amped up. Seems like they missed that tonight. I really hope he continues to get better because the dude has the potential to be a game changer and has already jarred some balls lose. He has improved his coverage skills a bit.

There will be one come playoff time, and they are the Seahawks who if they stay healthy and Wilson has no setbacks, will be just like the Vikings....but with an actual QB.

They just had a game where their offense only scored 3 points against TB. This isn't the same offense without Beast mode especially not playing in Seattle.

I dunno, thought Heath filled in well, the times I focused on him.

They didn't have "Beast mode" last year and Wilson had his best year. Not sure why you guys continue to bring this up. Seattle seems to always have a couple hiccup games before getting hot in the end. Their issues right now is Wilson not being 100%, but he's getting there. They also have a rookie RB coming along and becoming a good receiver for them.

I do not want to face a playoff experienced team in the divisional or championship round if we sputter like we did against the Vikings. That's not good, we have do better. I think we all can agree on that. 17 points is not enough to win games normally if you have a shoddy defense.
