Kirk Cousins better than Romo? Puh-leaze

Cousins had an excellent season despite his running game ranking 20th. Romo has never led the Cowboys to the playoffs with a running game ranked that low. If the Commanders keep adding pieces around Cousins and improve their running game they have a chance to build a strong team that could contend for a number of years.

This is what happens when a football professional (McCloughan) is finally in charge of the org. This has been the most drama free off season since Snyder took over the team

Eh, who knows.

He's had some freak injuries during his career and his age probably doesn't help his durability.

But with that said, yeah I think he'll be fine.

His injury history is largely overblown.

I am 34 now. I played sports growing up my entire life. Not an elite pro athlete like Romo at all, but the soreness, aches and pains just last longer (after playing basketball for example or lifting) and your body just doesn't recover as quick.

Romo at 36, with the recent hits, the back and freak injuries is in a tough spot physically. That back in particular. I feel for the guy because my back has been acting up the last year and it just sucks

KJJ will argue with a brick wall for 45 pages about Tony. You're better off just letting him be.

And Kirk is completely mediocre. Pretty sure KJJ went on some spiel about Nick Foles being better than Tony after Nick's one good season before his complete implosion.

That is all.

The only brick walls here are people like you who call out other posters trying to turn their opinion into a personal attack. This board is loaded with brick walls just read some of their comments. You have one guy claiming if last year is as good as it gets with Cousins who ranked 12th amongst NFL QBs last season he'll make a good career backup. No one on this board has been more honest about Romo than I have but I have to deal with an agenda from FANS like you who try and spin I don't like him. You won't find one post from me on this board claiming Nick Foles was better than Romo. Cousins has a long way to go to be the QB Romo has been but he had a better season than Romo last year and due to his youth and Romo's advancing age and injuries Cousins arrow is pointing up and Romo's is pointing down. Care to argue that?

Stability at QB solves a lot of problems but again Cousins still has to validate last season with another solid season in 2016 for most to be sold on him. When RG3 arrived in 2012 and had the excellent rookie season he did it appeared Washington had finally hit on a great young QB. RG3's stardom had risen to the point after just one season that he could have been elected President and 2 years later he wouldn't have been able to win a caucus in his own locker room. No one in the Nations Capital or anywhere else could have ever imagined that just 4 years later RG3 would be gone trying to resurrect his career in Cleveland.

His fall from grace was like nothing we've seen in this league. What looks so promising about Cousins is he was able overcome the adversity he faced in 2014 with all the INT's. He handled everything well and rebounded from it to have a terrific season in 2015, that's the sign of a real mature QB who's going to be able to handle the ups and downs of the NFL. Not completely sold on him yet but if he builds off last year in 2016 then I think Washington may have themselves a real good QB for a long time.

Yeah like I said it's the age that worries me. I'm 28 and I can start to feel things just going now.

I feel for him too and if he suffers another setback I'd like to see him retire.

But like I said, I think he'll be alright. The only game I worry about is that Thursday nighter.

It's not overblown he's missed games the past 3 seasons and at 36 that's concerning. Missing the season finale in 2013 may have cost the Cowboys the division title and a playoff birth that season. With him being 36 and coming off 3 straight seasons where injuries have cost him games was concerning enough that it had the Cowboys thinking QB with their first pick. I honestly believe they would have taken Goff or Wentz had either QB been there. Offering a #2 and #3 to move up for Lynch with all the defensive holes we have shows there's real concern about Romo's health and how much more time he has left.
