Kitna vs. McGee

and it is a contradiction. The Dullphins played their starters because they were looking like crap and those starters were told to step up their game, meaning play with more intensity, which they did and it's completely the opposite of what you just said.

You can spin it anyway you want to fit whatever agenda you have but the Dolphins played their scrubs the entire second half. Some of their backups got playing time during the first half. That game wasn't even close to what McGee would see during the regular season and you want to throw him in 7 games into the season after carrying a clipboard the first 6 weeks.

Randy White;3650906 said:
So if that's what YOU believe then why in the world you said the complete opposite minutes earlier ?

but don't tell me, that's not a contradiction either...

No contradiction at all you're just looking for an argument I've been down this road with you before. LOL Saying the players think the season is over is different than the coaches sending them a signal the season is over. Players may give up but coaches don't and they never want to convey they are to their team especially with 10 games left. Starting McGee next week when our season is far from officially over is telling the players we're playing for next year. The only enjoyment we're going to get the rest of this season is watching Dez develop. I want to see him continue to make plays in our passing game and he has a much better chance of doing that with an experienced QB at the helm.

Josh Freeman was a first rd pick.

1) scrubs
2) intensity
3) scrubs no intensity 2nd half
4) round in which he was picked..

next stop: Because he stole his first name from Jerry's son.

McGee will benefit most by dressing as the backup and being on the sdelines learning from Kitna.

They could throw him in there for a couple of series too, when we have good field position, and run some of the plays he's comfortable with. There's no reason you have to hurry to start him. If we want to give him a start week 16-17 or something, that should be alright too if he's played well until then.

McGee was fighting to make the team this summer he looked good in the last preseason game where everyone was playing their scrubs. .

KJJ;3650338 said:
When he looks ready during camp and the entire preseason. Camp reports on him weren't very good all he did was check down and wasn't getting the ball down the field. He did that in every preseason game except the last one when he played the entire game against scrubs .

KJJ;3650407 said:
That's true but the intensity level in preseason isn't near the same as the regular season. The reason the Fins played their starters the first half is because they had been looking like crap. .

KJJ;3650451 said:
That was during one preseason game. He wasn't exactly boosting anyones confidence prior to that with all the check downs and incompletions. He's going to have to show me alot more during camp and preseason than a few good throws in one meaningless preseason game.

KJJ;3650545 said:
No contradiction at all just telling it like it is. The Fins didn't game plan because it was a meaningless game. The Cowboys didn't game plan the entire preseason they still don't look like they're game planning. LOL The Fins HC was looking for a better performance and he didn't get it. They lost to a Cowboys team that had been looking like crap all presaeason and was being led by a 3rd string QB who couldn't even get the ball down the field until that game.

He was playing against scrubs in the previous games. LOL He played the entire second half against Miami against scrubs but you seem to think that makes him ready to challenge the Packers, Saints and Colts.

There's no need for me to spin anything when using your own words is more than sufficient.

i know what we have with kitna.we are not making the playoffs, its better we find out about Mcgee in real game situations now than going through all the pre-season hoopla of guessing if he can play or not.we have a chance now of finding out if he can be our backup QB.

Oh so now it wasn't scrubs without intensity, it was scrubs without intensity in the 2nd half... Yea, keep moving the goal post... or digging the hole deeper.

Dude you can keep twisting my comments all you want anyone who can read can follow what I've been saying. LOL Anyone who wants McGee starting next week are the ones digging a hole and if you keep digging the next time you see daylight you'll be in China. LOL I've made my position clear McGee isn't ready to start and I'm not in the minority. You just want to see him running around like a chicken with his head cut off checking down and taking sacks.

The reason why you want him to start is so that he can learn to prepare as a starter, take all the snaps in practice as a starter, experience what a starter goes through during the week, in live game situations and not just talking about it on the sidelines or during film sessions. He's ready to take that step. Now it's just a matter of sitting back and see if he'll sink or swim.

The Cowboys could be HUGE winners if he puts on a good show the rest of the season, and I don't mean because they would have found their back up.

Everything I said that you bolded is why McGee isn't ready to start. :toast:

THERE IS NO upside to having Kitna finish out the season. None.
What, we should showcase what a 38-year-old on his last legs can do?
Why? So we can win?

Win what?

Yes, showcase McGee. I don't expect much, other than to see what he can do. And who knows, McGee had more upside and more "buzz" coming out of the college ranks than did Romo.

So he is worth a look.

patience, mcgee will play after the giants pound kitna in to retirement at the new meadowlands in 3 weeks.
