Kiwanuka Moving to LB for Giants

You guys need to learn how to work the "quote" feature. I'm so confused.

I am terrible with the multiple quotes, we already went over this.

Apparently WG didn't give me a good lesson.

very comical, just like trying to move ellis from de to olb... no wait....:bang2:

:lmao2:

I was thinking the same.[/QUOTE]

A little easier to hide Ellis(or any SOLB in the 3-4) in coverage than a OLB in the 4-3 scheme. The way Dallas limited Ellis in coverage, they may as well have been running the 4-3 last season. It looked more like he was playing a 4-3 DE and occasionally dropping him in zone blitz coverage.

This isn't the worst thing the Giants can do. This guy has some talent and needs to see the field. It is just a way to get him on the field as much as possible and not just limiting him to being a pass rusher and back up to anyone that gets hurt. I would guess that every team will go after him in the passing game and the Giants will counter that by blitzing him as much as possible. Kind of like they did with Arrington last year.

There's about 6 more that I can show you. Including one where he knocks Romo back so hard for a sack and forced fumble that Tony almost does a summersault in mid air.

He would have been a Top 10 pick if he had came out as a junior. Was Bobby ever considered a potential Top 10 pick? Kiwanuka falling that far in the draft is a classic example of paralysis by analysis. He was penalized because he received a lot of (well deserved) hype and he was over analyzed more than other prospects were. The moment he stepped on the field in Giants training camp he was making jaws drop and they were trying to think of ways they could get him on the field with Strahan and Kiwanuka. Bobby had a hard time stealing playing time away from Al Singleton.
Well, now we've got Spencer and Ware and can replace James with Carpenter.

All's well that ends well.

no, but he wasn't a joke out there which you guys are implying

I love Ellis when he is rushing the QB.

But when he was in the open (which wasn't often fortunately) he didn't look comfortable.

You can ask Ellis himself and he would most likely tell you the same thing.

^^^ Another guy who cant muli-quote like me.

all you do is hit the icon between the quote and quick reply functions that has the quotation mark on every post you wish to quote, and then hit the quote button once you're done compiling all your quotes you wish to reply to

He's actually 6'5". Almost 6'6".

But here are his timed numbers:

40 Yrd Dash: 4.70
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.15
3-Cone Drill: 7.29

That Shuttle is shocking. The cone is average. But I wouldn't imagine those numbers are too much worse than Witten's.

We'll see how meaningful that shuttle is when he's falling over himself after Witten jukes him out of his shoes. :D

I'm not listening to you...

Read your post 16, its a bloody mess :p:

EDIT: You mis-quoted me.

If Witten actually makes a juke move, I'll fall out of my chair. Witten's great, but shifty he is not.

I suspect they're making a more significant shift to the 3-4 and Kiwanuka will be hell as a 3-4 OLB.

To InmanRoshi: There's the difference. As a 3-4 OLB, I'd prefer Kiwanuka because of his pass-rush ability. But with Carpenter inside, I think he's a better athlete.

Good point. Then again, if Witten of all people actually can juke him, that'll say a lot about his ability to play LB. :D

I think the G Man made an excellent draft choice with Kiwi. He had an off senior year due to injuries I believe. Although he really looked good when he was on the field last year. I would definately take him.

I have a feeling we will be hearing a lot from him for years to come.

He didn't really have that bad of a senior year, honestly. I think he still had 10 sacks and about 15-16 TFL's.

I truly believe there is a phenomenon where if a projected Top 10 pick junior stays for his senior year he gets a bit over analyzed and nitpicked over compared to other prospects because he's in all the preseason publications and people get tired of hearing about them. His stock loses steam and starts gets a little stale. Think about all the fallers the last couple of years ... Kiwanuka, Alan Branch, Brady Quinn, Matt Leinart. They were all projected to be Top 10, if not Top 3, picks as juniors. Draftniks are like kids at Christmas. All of last year's toys get tossed on the closet floor because they're infatuated with the new toys. I'm sorry, I just don't think Amobi Okoye and Jarvis Moss are better football players than Alan Branch.

that is true, but what about the Seniors such as Quentin Moses?

I'm afraid you're right about Kiwanuka. He definitely outshined Carp last year. But I don't know how good Carp is and I'm not sure a lot of people outside the organization do. I hope Carp can play as well as Kiwanuka.

I like this move for the Giants.

It's all about getting the best players on the field at the same time.

I hope we can find a way to do it.

Spencer, Ware, Ellis, Carpenter, Ayodele....how can we get them all on the field?

Nice problem to have

:laugh2:

If I were an opposing offensive coordinator, I'd be overjoyed hearing this news. I'd isolate him in the passing game all day long.
