Yes and I disagree with him as well, but it's a ridiculous comment by any means. It's one game. Anytime you got Kobe, LeBron, and Durant who are the three best players in the league you got a chance.
True, but I believe that the odds would not be favorable for the 2012 team even with its three current NBA superstars.

Did he hypothetically mean that if his team and the 1992 Dream Team met only once that they would win that single game? If so, I disagree with him.

really? the dream team did lose a scrimmage to a college all star team headlined by C-Webb and Bobby Hurley. so anything can happen

1st practice game by guys who had never played together....and a agame that was thrown by the coach to make a point. For example, he sat Jordan on the bench almost the entire game.
They then beat that same group by nearly 100 points

Robinson would not make this team. If you want Robinson, make your own. He aint good enough to make this team.

You are flat out sick in the head. During his first 7 years in the league, he was the #1 rated player if you go by the IBM statistical analysis. Now, I am not saying he was the best player in the league, cause that was Michael Jordan, but what I am saying is, he was one of the top players of his era, prior to his back problems. Also, if you look at his first 7 years (right in the middle of which was the Dream Team)....he was winning the battle against the best Centers in the league. Not only were his stats slightly superior, but the Spurs were winning these match-ups for the most part. Now of course everyone remembers the WCF of 95, and that is going to be Robinson's legacy......but remember, that same playoffs, Hakeem owned Shaq as well, and Shaq is no scrub.

So since Robinson was on the original Dream Team, so yes he belongs on the team.

had that group of college all stars played together before? and yes Jordan didn't play much, but this 2012 team is way better than the college all star team.

Besides my point was anything can happen, the 92 team would definately win in a series, but in a one time game, the 2012 team could win.

so what rules are they going to play by? The step and a half, no moving screens, hand checking of '92? or the dribbling optional, no such thing as traveling BS basketball of today?

I agree in a one game scenario, you never know for sure when players are at the same level (NBA vs NBA)

In a one time game, yes the 2012 team can win......especially when FIBA is involved, those crooked swines....not saying the 2012 team would need some shadiness, just saying I wouldn't be surprised at all if shadiness was involved......just look at the 72 Olympics when the US was hosed in the game against the USSR.

no joke, these sissies today couldn't handle the physical game of 92. All these sissies do is whine of you look at them. It is ridiculous.

I wish the NBA would just make 1 rule change....get rid of that garbage hand check rule. It has totally wussified the NBA.

Mashburn played for Kentucky and Carter, well, he's a great Dunker but I can't honestly put him at SG or SF over any of the guys on this team. Who would you take off, MJ, Sweet D, Charlie Scott, James Worthy, Bob McAdoo or Antwan Jamison?

I don't know why I typed Jamal Mashburn, I knew he was a Wildcat. I meant Jerry Stackhouse. Maybe because they both spent some time in Dallas that I mixed up their names.

Stackhouse had a decent NBA career. Vince Carter is second only to MJ in points scored by a Tar Heel in the NBA and third in points per game. Don't be silly by including MJ in your list of who to take off. You know that would never happen. :) Jamison's career has been no better than Carter's, so he would be a candidate. I would consider taking Perkins off. He was a good player, but he benefited greatly from the Hall of Famers around him.

Kobe said he's retiring in three years. :(

Well, I doubt that will end up being the case unless injuries finish him off, I bet he plays beyond that. BUT, if he did retire then, it could be around the same time Timmy, KG, Nash, maybe even Kidd would be retiring. That would be a disgusting hall of fame class!

Maybe he wants to leave the game before injuries play a bigger factor in his life. He would have played in 19 seasons three years from now, which is a long time. In the next 3 years Kobe will move into the top 10 in both games played and minutes played. He needs to appear in 25 more playoff games to be the all time leader in playoff games played. He should easily surpass the mark for playoff minutes played needing only 211 minutes to surpass Kareem. That is a lot of wear and tear on a body. Even though he will only be 36 in 3 years, it will be on old 36 years of age. It is possible that he can continue playing longer, but maybe he just doesn't want to play that long.

I believe he would retire if the knee gets worse or wins another ring in next two seasons.

He pondered retiring if that knee procedure didn't work. I know a lot of people on this forum hate LA and Kobe but I'm going to miss the hell out of that guy, ultimate competitor.

while all that is true, i just think he plays longer if he can because of the side effect to the knee procedure he had done in germany recently. basically, he will be in a wheel chair by the time he is 45, so it seems to me like he cares very little what his body is like after his career is over. but really, who knows. i wouldnt be surprised if there is a sharp drop in his ability this coming year or next, much like Duncan's decline a few years back

But the real question is when does he sign with Miami to play alongside LeBron?
