He never gave the team any trouble, and he made a number of big plays. We were a better team with him. Adding TY Hilton helped CeeDee have a big day against the Eagles. Hilton has a reputation and he had to be accounted for. A big play number two receiver will open up a lot of opportunities for CeeDee.
I didn’t say he gave trouble to the team. I said he was just not a good locker room fit for what MM was trying to build. Team chemistry is the most important aspect of a championship team. If you don’t have it, no matter how much talent you have you’ll not win. Cooper was just not a team player. Just there to collect a paycheck. And it turns out the team was right as they have the highest scoring offense in the league.

As most regular readers on this forum know, I have been hard on this front office for what I felt like was a lack of action in the free agent market last year.

I must say they have been really impressive with their in season free agent signings and trades.

Hankins
Peters
Hilton

All have all made impacts with their play as well as mentoring our younger players.

I am impressed with their team first mentality.

Hopefully these player can continue to contribute.

Again, props to the front office on a job well done !

Alexander might join them. I thought he played pretty well in his few snaps Saturday.

Right now. I'd play him in the slot and Bland outside rather than bringing in Wright when we're in the nickel, but we've got a couple of games to see how that shakes out before the playoffs start.
You need to report that your like button is broken, lol

The team obviously did not want Cooper and they are doing fine without him.

I’ve never heard anyone say he wasn’t a good locker room fit for us. Do you have any posts that you can provide expressing that opinion when he was still here? We had the highest scoring offense in the league with him last year and Dak didn’t have as many INT‘s bouncing off receivers hands. Dak was more consistent when Cooper was here. Cooper had a 1000 yard season with 7 TDs playing for a bad Browns team that has an unstable QB situation. Hopefully you don’t think OBJ would’ve been a better locker room fit than Cooper. That’s the guy just looking to collect a paycheck.

They didn’t want him because of money and Jerry Jones said so when his radio interview earlier in the season. I can assure Jerry was regretting that decision or he would’ve never shown any interest in OBJ and TY Hilton wouldn’t be here.

He said that move was made strictly because Cooper's salary was too high. "The issue with Amari Cooper was how much we were paying him, and what we could do with that money," Jones said. Sep 23, 2022

Cooper was the best receiver on the team and would’ve been this year. No argument there. But again, you need leadership from a vet like Coop and he just didn’t show it. We’ve already seen how TY gave insight to Lamb that allowed him to score one of his TD’s. Never heard that about Coop.

He provided plenty of help and insight to CeeDee and I’ve seen the videos. CeeDee talked about Coop taking him under his wing. This is just one of the videos with Coop showing CeeDee a few tricks. The other video shows that he has some fire in him.

Another in-season acquisition that deserves to be mentioned is Matt Overton. Having a reliable long-snapper is important and Overton stepped in after McQuaide was injured and hasn't missed a beat. And I loved how excited he was after one of Maher's FGs on Saturday.

I think some confuse Cooper having a low-key personality with him not caring. That's never been the case. Cooper's main issue has always been health. He has some chronic lower-body issues that slow him down. Without those, I think he'd be mentioned with the best in the game because of his route-running acumen. It's hard to get in and out of your breaks as quickly or run at top speed when you've got plantar fasciitis or muscle pulls. Cooper hardly misses games despite his injuries, so some don't even notice when he's playing hurt. Most of the time, if he's not playing well, he's playing hurt.

He's one of those players, like Sean Lee, that you would like to see what their careers would look like without all of the injuries. Unfortunately, that's not how their bodies are made, so you can't expect them to be something their bodies won't let them be.

Amari Cooper’s body language bothered a lot of fans. Every time he got up from making a catch it always look like something was ailing him. It never bothered me because he produced when given the opportunity, and made some excellent catches in critical situations. This was his game-winning TD against the Vikings last season. He made Cooper Rush look great in that game. No way does our entire receiving core produce in that game without Amari on the field. Cooper Rush never had a game like that this season. CeeDee has been having to take on a lot of double coverage without Amari. Although he had a number of nagging lower body injuries, he played with them.

Don't get why we waited so long to get TY, and definitely think we should have added Joseph as well as Hankins but otherwise, can't hate what they've done here recently.

Yes either he or Suh to go along with Hankins would have been great. Only reason they didn’t bag OBJ was because he wasn’t ready yet to play but feel like TY was better hopefully for us.
