Good for him. There was speculation that he was gay, I think due to a domestic violence call police got between him and another man, so I wasn't shocked when I saw this.

And I think I remember reading some where that a current NFL player was strongly considering coming out, wonder if they were alluding to him, even though he's not on a team already.

This broke a couple of months ago I think. I remember they were talking about it on Houston radio.

I think this is great to be honest. Extremely brave of him.

I don't beleive it was him, as Harris has pretty much been known as gay since the incident between him and his BF was made public. He just now has publicly confirmed it. That recent report about a player coming out soon claimed it to be a current player, too, and Harris hasn't played in a couple years.

What is so wonderfull about stepping out? I don't see where making your sex life public information is wonderfull at all. If he was straight, would it be wonderfull or is this a gwy only thing?

We pretty much assume everyone is straight, so obviously that wouldn't be interesting or brave.

But thank you for telling us that this is just about his sex life. I expect all the gay folks out there who are virgins or not sexually active, can go back to calling themselves straight.

Anyone remember the rumors about Troy Aikman being gay?
I didn't care as long as he kept winning, he could do whatever he wanted (within the law) on his free time.

Because there is nothing to be ashamed of? Because it is normal?

That is a subjective opinion that many don't agree with. The whole issue is polarizing as it is and has nothing to do with football. But there are certain special interest groups who would like to make an issue of it in every industry in America.

some support it and some that don't and then there are the rest of us who are SICK SICK SICK and tired of hearing (and don't care) about people's private sexual lives. The fact that its constantly rammed down everyone's throats and everyone is forced to take sides is exhausting. Do what you want to in private but announcing your sexual desires should not be news. I think most people don't want to know what goes on in swingers clubs, polygamist sects, NAMBLA meetings, West Virginia, Afghanistan on thursdays, or pro athletes bedrooms. Or maybe we've created such a narcissistic society via facebook and twitter that these people (those who feel they need to have a grand announcement) and those that support their cause think that we care. No one is saying Kwame should "go back in the closet" but we don't need to throw a celebration and parade. If someone is secure enough about it, why do they feel the need to make a spectacle of it?

I don't care what they call themselves. It is not just them, but I don't see no value in bringing private information public. I think it is nothing more than an attempt to get attention.

The 1950s are calling.

They want your opinions back.

The whole idea that it should be "private" is preposterous. The more people in the public eye that come out and are proud of who they are, the better it is for anyone struggling with this.

You can hold hands with a woman and no one would blink and eye. Of course, you are clearly calling attention to your heterosexuality by doing so. In many places in this country, two dudes could not act in that manner. Why do certain people have the right to do things in public but others do not?

Morals don't have an expiration date, but apparently Class does.

It's funny, people who don't agree with it are considered hateful bigots, yet it's the other side of the argument that always slings the insults. So classy.

Your morals are not universal.

In fact, the most immoral thing you can do is force your morals down the throat of others.
