Exactly what kind of injury do you think he had that he might be shooting for a 2011 return?

At least he won't be setting off alarms at the airport anymore.

Man someone must have really stomped the ____ out of his foot to be broken so badly it needed screws wow.

I expect that the team may have incorrectly evaluated the severity of the injury initially and put him back on the field too early. You don't often see a guy who is totally healed continually aggravating the injury so it is likely that the initial fracture was worse than team Drs thought. Or that Kyle just heals slower than other guys. Either way they are right to take caution here as KK was a huge loss last year.

Maybe. You can just step wrong and break your 5th metatarsal which could need hardware to reduce/fix. A mid-foot injury can happen without direct trauma, too.

What's good is he should be back at the start of TC.

I'm not convinced that Kyle Kossier was as much of a huge loss, compared to other potential starters, as Corey Proctor was a huge disappointment at LG, compared to other potential backups.

After all before last season, everyone recognized Kossier as the weak-link on the starting OL, so whay should that be any differnt now? Even the Cowboys hinted at that when they traded for Holland, and they are all but confirming it now that they are seemingly grooming Holland to take over as the starting LG.

In the end, I like this competition between Holland and Kossier at LG, and I'm privately hoping that Holland takes full advantage of it. If he can at least come close Kossier's productivity then Holland should be the starter because of his favorable size. In either case the loser of the starting nod will be more than capable as the backup.

Holland should be the starter?

As I've pointed out time and again. Holland couldn't get his *** on the field for months. If Holland who is a vet with considerable starting experience couldn't win a competition against Proctor, then he stands no chance in pushing Kosier.

Kosier was a huge loss due to having the proctologist play for him. ANd for the coaching staff to wait so long to give Holland a try.

I totally agree with you. How can you groom a 6 year vet? I'm hoping somebody else pushes Kosier, but I won't put my hopes on Holland who is what the call in the NFL a journeyman at best.

Right, unlike Holland, Kossies is a perrenial pro-bowler. Oh, uh, ...wait! Um, unlike Holland, Kossier has played with one team his whole career. Oh, uh, ...wait! Um, who again dod you call a journeyman?

Both guys played with 3 teams. But how they moved around really says something about the players.

Kosier is a "journeyman" because teams actually wanted him. Detroit signed him as a Restricted Free Agent. We signed him as an UFA. Teams bid on him and targeted him as a free agent and he got a 5 year 15 mill contract out of it.

Holland on the other hand got no RFA offers and moved on as a UFA, taking a 1 year one mill deal in Denver. They extended him for low money and he wore out his welcome. He would likely have been cut in Denver if we didn't trade for him.

There have been rumblings that some wanted Holland to start weeks earlier but SOMEONE did not want to take a chance on replacing the proctologist. Three guesses who that was- you know, the guy that called the proctologist our best lineman in one game....

That speaks volumes about Holland's worth. Neither Holland nor the Proctologist are worth their weight in salt. Somebody else like McQ or Free needs to step up and challenge Kosier.

We probably got the dumbest O-Lines in the NFL, Who else is going to make the Pre-Snap Oline Adjustment for AG if KK isn't there??

KK's injury hurt us a lot last year but I thinking it was more because of the mental aspect of the game that he provided opposed to the pysical....

Then I think you totally missed the point of his post.

this was why I thought for a long time we were better off with Johnson. i was wrong about that but my argument was always that Gurode wasn't great mentally (although from what I've read he is very smart otherwise)
