@hobbsgm16 Look at the OG that have visited. Long, Pugh, Cooper, might tell you something there. Warmack is different from those.

Saw that earlier as well.

This kid also had a DUI if I remember correctly but they have drafted OL with that problem before (Al Johnson IIRC) so who knows.

Comes from a good family. He made a mistake if he is not showing any history of this type of behavior I would be willing to chalk it up to youth. He has been viewed as a 2nd rd pick would not mind Dallas drafting him in that rd.

Oregon OT Kyle Long tweeted that he was "headed to the Lone Star State". We'll take this to mean he's visiting the Cowboys.

I take it that it will be Dallas and or Houston.

Kyle Long doesn't excite me .... as a football player.

One of the draft mags (I think PFW) scout called him a knucklehead

Preferred baseball to football
Academic failure at Florida State
DUI
Arm Length probably too short for OT
6-6, 304 lbs at Senior Bowl (313 at Combine)

A natural weight of 304 lbs would be undersized for 6-2 Guard, for a 6-6 Guard, it is drastically underweight. Tall Guards need extra weight to overcome their leverage disadvantage. Probably needs to be about 325 lbs of "good" weight. I wouldn't consider the extra 9 lbs between the Senior Bowl and combine as good weight.

so how does he excite you?

I knew that was coming. Perhaps I should have simply said that he doesn't interest me (in any conceivable way).

Supposedly has matured but that's something for interviews and checks. Hard to get too excited about one DUI in a 19 yo kid. Supposedly athletic enought to play OT. He is rising up the boards. We'll see.

I feel like if you take him you have to try and make him a tackle.

IIRC scout in publication called him a knucklehead after seeing him in action at the Senior Bowl FWIW.

That's the sort of player you absolutely want to get a chance to talk to and evaluate for yourself to see if you think you can work with him.

You want to do your HW on guys who might drop several rounds below where their talent alone would put them.

33.5 inches is not "too short" for OT. 33.5 is pretty close to average for an NFL OT.

Willing to bet that 33.5 isn't averege. 34 is usually considered the minimum length and while there are likely good tackles who come in below this, the majority are above that number
