I’m a big fan of the player, but the more I watch him the more I wonder about what kind of athlete he is.

if he isn’t going to block I need him to be a SPARQ monster to take him in the top 10 and I don’t think he will be.

If I have an all pro quality TE available. I probably take the all pro quality LB who I think will be available in Parsons.

I mean I get your argument catch. I really do. I just man. Can we spend a top 5 pick on a TE the way the team is constructed? Another season of scoring 30+ points but losing games? Idk I’ll rip my hair out man if that happens. Lol

I don't see us getting a top 5 selection, more closer to that 8-10 range, where drafting Pitts makes a lot of sense based on his value.

5 games to go, where our draft slotting is still very much up in the air. However, if they fail to win the division, I strongly believe they will earn a top 10 selection.

Several years ago, the last time they had a top 10 pick, I remember Stephen Jones, state: we don't normally pick this high, we are not going to draft based on need, but rather take the best player available.

In my opinion, there are just two blue chip non-QB prospects in this upcoming draft: Sewell, and Kyle Pitts.

Pitts is a matchup nightmare, a so called chess piece. The SEC, which is one of if not the best College Football Conferences, have no idea how to stop him. Too fast for linebackers, too big for safeties. Many have been calling for a modern, athletic TE, Pitts certainly fits the bill.
I would love to have Pitts

I'd definitely take him, if the blue-chip players aren't there like Sewell. In the top 5, you can't miss because you reached for a need. Are we going to draft another Tyson Alalu because we needed defense?

Weren't asking me, but Wilson gives me major Johnny Manziel vibes. No idea why.

Yeah I don’t see it..

He plays a more disciplined game than Manziel ever did.. He’s also bigger.

He’s quick like Manziel but his overall skill set is closer to Rodgers imo. Very similar skill set.

We will see where the pick falls. I still don’t think a TE is the best value or what makes sense for the team. Whether it’s top 5 or top 10.

Pitts is my favorite prospect to watch so far in this draft. If we don’t get Sewell or one of the top spots for a QB/huge trade down packages then I’m still very happy with Pitts. There will be good defenders in rounds 2 and later.

There is no earthly way we are taking a TE with a top 5 pick.

This is the classic BPA vs need question... Pitts is a surefire NFL stud, but how many games do you think Dallas has lost because of lacking receiver play?

If he’s head and shoulders over the best D player the yes, you take Pitts. If it’s close, then flip a coin.

If the corners and Parsons are off the board, which is very possible, they are going to have to take someone, where Pitts should be atop of their board.

I would much rather address the defense then to add another weapon to already a good offense. However, Pitts could be special and would make our offense even that much harder to defend. I think many fans still envision us as a run first team which we are not, Pitts is an excellent weapon in the passing game.

We will see if that’s the case. Of course there’s a lot of assumptions to be made that Pitts will be that much better than an available player at a defensive position.

We will have to see what’s still available. Any draft discussion always has the caveat of “who is still available when you pick”

I’m just throwing it out there. I don’t take him over Parsons and I don’t take him over a defensive player who may be similarly rated.

But as always, it depends how the draft board falls. I would still prefer trade down and adding picks, over using a top 10 on a TE. If a team is offering me a good trade package.

I much rather draft a star, then over drafting to fill a need. I too want to address the defense, but there is lack of high-end talent in this class. If our pick is in that 8-10 range, Pitts has to be in serious consideration.

We agree, its just the defense is begging for help. It' goes back to last year the defense needs help and we draft a stud WR and everybody got it. Here we are again Pitts is a complete offensive stud?
