This is the one pick that scares me, I continue to hear people linking Pitts to the Cowboys. While I think this kid has great talent I honestly do not see him as a TE nor do I think Dallas needs a TE or WR. However the name keeps getting thrown out there for Dallas. I do think he will have a very good career so this is not a knock on this kids.

We need defense... but Pitts is incredible.

It isn’t just that he runs fast and is super athletic. What makes him great is that he’s a really good football player. He plays the ball in the air like few guys do. He just attacks the ball when it’s in the air. He’s getting his hands on the ball before the defender has even had a chance to react. It’s just a knack that a guy either has or doesn’t have. They can work on it and improve but if you have trouble with it, you’ll never be great at it.

Pitts is already great at it, and his hands are terrific. He catches everything.

Then, throw in that he is 6’6”, uber-athletic and can run like a WR along with that natural talent at playing football and you have a guy that is going to be a problem for the next decade.

So yeah, Dallas needs defense badly but if they decide to take a guy that is that special at a position that a difference maker can win a lot of games for you... well, I will understand and won’t complain.

I don’t think he makes it to pick 10 though.

We all know we need defense, but when there’s a special talent available at your pick you go get them. We’re not one player away might as well get the greatest talent for the long haul and use our other resources to shore up the defense, if we happen to be picking Pitts that is.

One of the corners is probably the most likely pick at 10 lining up talent, our needs and who is picking ahead of us, but there’s depth in this secondary class as well.

Pitts and Slater should be realistic options at 10,if we are really picking BPA then they should be options at 10.

I think Pitts is a very talented player I can't say I see him as a TE. You can put the position of TE on him but frankly he is a WR and while talented this Cowboys team have very good talent at the WR position. I also do not think Pitts would grade out any higher than some of the other prospects on the board at 10. Seems to be a mix bag of opinions

I'm fine with a pick of Pitts. But in that case, we may have to trade up a bit from 42 to get a corner, DL, or LB.

Pitts is blue chip talent.
I would take him in a heartbeat at 10.
You have 9 more picks to address the defense.

I think Pitts is very talented and if Dallas was not loaded at WR then I would be more inclined to take him. I don't buy into this BS of him being a TE, he does not do anything you would expect out of the TE, he is for the most part he is just a tall WR.

I was thinking the same I doubt he makes it to us but damn what he would do in this offense. We’d look like the chiefs.....maybe LOL

He played lined up in the TE position even though he lined up as a WR .
He can and will continue to play that way in the NFL.

I would hate for either Philly or NYG to get Pitts or AL WR Davonte Smith.

I think Ertz is gone so Philly definitely has a need at TE.

He is a WR, as you said he is not lining up as a TE nor does he do the task of a TE. You can call him TE but does not change the fact he lines up as a WR and for all practical purpose is a WR. I think the kid has talent and a bright future in the NFL but Dallas has WR, we are loaded at WR, our TE can actually play the TE spot as receiver and blocker. I don't deny the talent but yes it is a pick I think will not accomplish anything for Dallas, issues in defense and OL in my views is critical, getting another WR is not.

True but I would not draft him to prevent Philly or NY to get him because it does not solve our own issues. I don't care who Philly, NY or Washington draft my concern is who we draft and how they make us better as a team.

He actually lined up in the traditional TE role at Florida. He can do it in the NFL.

Not often he spent more time split out. I think he has very good talent but Dallas does not need WR, Pitts does not block, he is not a guy lining up on the LS. Dallas has very good outside weapons and Pitts does nothing to fix critical needs for this team. I believe in BPA but need still has to play a part. Defense needs real talent not hoping to strike it rich with late rd picks.

How will that Pitts pick when Gallup leaves?
How will that first round defensive pick going to look when second round defensive players are playing as well as the first rounders?

that is an assumption now isn't it? I think it would be a mistake, you don't so we disagree. There is 1st rd talent on defense this year that can help this team and while Pitts is good this draft is loaded with receivers and he is not the best WR in the draft. .

This would have to occur on draft day, but if Pitts is available at 10 and you could trade Cooper for additional picks, I'd be all for it.

@Doomsday101 join the rest of us in the modern NFL. Every tight end worth his weight in gold is a big wide receiver. Pitts fits the mold and would give us a weapon similar to Kittle and Kelce and Ertz. Shultz and Bell can do the dirty work for cheap just like those teams have their other tight ends do.

Pitts is the best TE in this draft and is worthy of the 10th pick .The defensive talent level between the first round and second round is minimal.
