I agree. I know he is an exclusive rights FA and hopefully he will be in camp. Even if he can be a solid backup player these past couple of season should remind everyone how important backup roles are.

A little off topic but that is a big reason I would like to see a DT drafted early in the draft since the line requires a constant rotation. Role players are key.

I'm not sure he'd be the favorite over A Albright . . . .

Hopefully it will be very competitive between the two.

I thought I had read a few weeks ago that Wilbur would be possibly playing back-up DE. Maybe they dive into FA for depth there?

I think Wilber is a better fit at SLB than DE, but I agree that he shouldn't be favored over Albright, who actually showed he could play linebacker decently last year.

Another player we're all forgetting is Orie Lemon. He looked decent in a small sample size last season.

I'm not sure Lemon is a good fit in this scheme. He's more of a slow thumper while this zone defense requires quick linebackers.

It's a similar situation to Carter/Connor. They like Wilber a lot and expect big things from him. Albright is just a guy.
