was held on march 8th
reported from the Fresno Bee (fresno newspaper)

kyle young

has bulked up 23 lbs probably knowing he's probably being viewed more as a guard. so his official weight at the proday?

6'5 353 lbs wow, thats some serious size

bench pressed 225 33 times

ran the 40 in 5.35 typical OL, especially for guards, does a 40 matter? lol

was being looked by over 30 nfl scouts

quote from jets scout
"Most NFL centers are about 6-2, big and strong enough to fight off defensive tackles but also with a low-enough center of gravity so defensive linemen don't have leverage to raise them off the ground, New York Jets scout Joe Bommarito said."

Only DBs, WRs and RBs need to worry about 40 times. With everyone else its the shuttle and things like that that are more important.

Some guys had to have him in one at the beginning of the year.

Suspended 4 games and now he's late day 2 at best.

says people like u. i'd like to see on draft day. im guessing u dont know the acedemic standards for fresno states football program. pat hill is strict. and only stanfords standards are higher on the westcoast. 30 scouts to see him perform? does that show you late day 2 attention? and no it wasnt for paul williams, marcus mccauley either. they did weigh ins, and thats it. seems like u see somebody post that and u repeat it. 30 scouts viewing 1 guy shows theres alot of interest

Fresno State isn't exactly an academic powerhouse -- A guy at U Mich or Ohio State, I could understand them failing classes - but not being able to make grades at a California State University school suggests a real problem.

Hell, maybe Williams/McCauley didn't workout at the Pro Day because THEY ACTUALLY got invited to the combine (unlike Young) and smoked it.

When did they announce ahead of time that they wouldn't be working out?

They didn't, so scouts thought they would get a chance to see them again.

Fresno State 2nd highest standards on the west coast (2 words)?

If you went there with your writing and broken english, I wouldn't let my dog go to obedience school there.

You mentioned Fresno State's standards being 2nd only to Stanford's on the west coast.

Where are those stats?

The fact that Tark coached hoops there tells everyone all they need to know about the academic standards.

How is that getting owned?

APR measures nothing but:

1) Are they eligible

2) Are they still with the school

Nothing to do with academic standards, eligibility/entrance requirements, etc, etc.

Who cares about a formula that rewards athletes/programs for taking the easiest classes available to keep them eligible?

It is easy to remain eligible if you have easy classes -- which as you point out, was EXACTLY my point.

University rankings based on US News and World Report's annual college guide

Regional schools (Master's Universities) are Smaller schools that only offer MAs - this is what the majority of State schools are ranked as (e.g., Fresno but not UCLA). These schools are ranked geographically.

National Universitys are the bigger schools that offer PhDs -- these are the schools that most people have heard of (e.g., UCLA but not Fresno). Nationals are ranked overall not by region.

Master's Universities -- West Region -- Fresno State #47 (top schools in this region? Trinity University of TX, Santa Clara, Gonzaga). There are fewer than 150 schools in this category.

National Universityies -- Ohio State #57 overall. U of Michigan #24 (top schools in this category? Princeton, Harvard, Yale). There are about 250 schools in this categoy.

Owned? Hardly.

US News Selectivity Rankings

U Mich - "Most Selective"
Ohio State - "More Selective"
Fresno State - "Less Selective"

How selective a university is relates directly to its academic quality.

I work at a University that is ranked a bit higher than Fresno - I've also worked at school similar in quality to Ohio State. The difference in academic standards is staggering.

Wow. If you are in favor of drafting the guy, this pic doesn't help.

What a fat sack of crap.

I don't think I've ever seen a player "jiggle" in a still photo before.

Looks like his trainer to help "bulk up to play guard" was Little Debbie.
