So you seem to know everything about Fresno, except that it isn't an academic powerhouse. Strange.

i didnt say they were a acedmic powerhouse. u said all that. i was pointing out to u that fresnos athletes are put on strict acedemic guidelines. as opposed to athletes in ohio state . where in ohio state the players cant even read, but are paid to play on the team. dont know much about michigan havent heard anything.

ur the one who went into that other stuff. i was talking about athletes

nd u made yourself look stupid as u were trying to argue a case iwasnt even bringing up. ohio state athletes dont even graduate. fresno states football? 75 % have a 3.5 GPA. and the graduation rate is close to 70%. which is pretty high for student athletes

C'mon, don't YOU have a favorite college team?? And wouldn't you get a kick out of it if the Boys drafted a good player from that team??

Heck, I was happy when the Boys went after Wane McGarity, and it ain't like he was ever gonna be a superstar... :D

was held on march 8th
reported from the Fresno Bee (fresno newspaper)

kyle young

has bulked up 23 lbs probably knowing he's probably being viewed more as a guard. so his official weight at the proday?

6'5 353 lbs wow, thats some serious size

bench pressed 225 33 times

ran the 40 in 5.35 typical OL, especially for guards, does a 40 matter? lol

was being looked by over 30 nfl scouts

quote from jets scout
"Most NFL centers are about 6-2, big and strong enough to fight off defensive tackles but also with a low-enough center of gravity so defensive linemen don't have leverage to raise them off the ground, New York Jets scout Joe Bommarito said."

I thought Jerry just got done fixing the OL.

Can he play NT?

:laugh2:

Fresno State isn't exactly an academic powerhouse -- A guy at U Mich or Ohio State, I could understand them failing classes - but not being able to make grades at a California State University school suggests a real problem.

Fresno State is not a hard school to get in. There have been some talks for Pac-10 expansion, adding Boise and Fresno State and forming a Norht and South division in the conference. It was only a thought because both schools did not meet academic standards. Believe me, as strict as Hill is, Fresno is not a tought place to be academically.

The fact is this, and this is nothing against you, Kyle Young was regarded and still is by some, the best center coming out this year. People like him cause he can also play guard. He didn't get invited to the combine because of his academic suspension, not because of his play; but like I said Kyle Young was and still is by some, regarded as the best center coming out this year. His stock is falling because he wasn't at the combine, but I'm sure it has risen because people got to see him workout at his pro-day. He is a definate first day pick, and if he were to fall pass the third round and get picked on the second day, whatever team gets him is very lucky.

...and yeah Paul Williams RULES!!!

I sware I'm not protecting Fresno States academics. In general some schools are easier to get into than others. But that same calculus class you're taking at Fresno State is the same one you're taking at USC. What it also comes down to is what programs are being offered at a college. If one school has a huge business department and the other is big in the sciences and math, of course the academics and classes taken at the science and math school are more difficult, but the people that get into to those have already achieved so much and are already at a high level of learning. But like I said, the same general chemistry class you take at Fresno State is the same at UCLA, just because its at UCLA doesn't mean they are learning some ridiculously hard chemistry class, its the same as it is at Fresno State; its just one school is harder to get into than the other. The people that get into UCLA are usually a more serious students which reflects the school, whereas at State they get a whole lot more under achievers, which of course reflects the school.

Besides in general athletes are not at the top of their class as it is. Its not like there is a bunch of straight A students playing in the NFL...lol...

I guess the combine has rules about inviting suspended players.
Seriuosly- if he is a good guy otherwise grabbing him late in the second might be a good thing. He can be our backup Center and a backup guard as well. I would have him take off the extra weight, though. 330 is big enoug for any position. Like the thought of having the backup center be even bigger then the starting center- and he might in a year or so beat out kosier. Or maybe even Gurode. Beginning to think this guy should be a target.

Jarvis Moss was suspended for weed. He was at the combine.

Merriweather got suspended for the Miami fight and firing a weapon. He was at the combine.

Tank Tyler is a Tank Johnson clone off the field......
