Understand but that cuts both ways..........how many players are cut each year for refusing to take pay cuts?
Players who are asked to take pay cuts are normally asked to do so because their game slipped and rather than cut/release that player management asks them about a pay cut and if the player doesn't agree then they can/will be cut/released.

Or if they're not living up to contract.

Players being asked to take actual cuts is very rare.

Extending contract is not a pay cut, it's generally pushing the money down the line so more talent can be fit under the cap in the present.

Lamar Jackson is playing under the 5th year option. He has COMPLETED 4 full seasons and no extension. IM not 100% sure the reason why. The way the cap is increasing along with these new QB deals, it could be his agent thinking playing under the 5th year option is not a bad deal since Lamar is going to get a **** ton of money on his new deal.

with the exception of the true STARS, Sure... the no brainer superstars..... but there is obviously some friction going on in Az with Kyler.
LJ turned down the deal but at least was offered, big difference in situations. LJ lee the marked swell and now has his sited set on #1 for qb salaries..

Murray will play under his current deal this is just posturing..He will miss voluntary stuff but eventually come in..

Ran through the 32 teams in my mind quickly ....other than Seattle - I don't see any viable landing spot for him (although some have mentioned the two Pennsylvania franchises and the one in North Carolina).
Perhaps that team down in the bayou?
a few injuries before the trade deadline might make him popular again.

He’s probably looking for Aaron Rodgers money and is closer to an RB than a QB. Tough paying a QB that kind of money who’s never put up more than 3100 passing yards in a season.

Agree 100%, but he is going to get big bucks. He's not a traditional QB, but he clearly makes the team better.

No doubt he’ll get paid. The combination of running and passing makes him a dynamic player but the Ravens still have a dilemma on how much they’re willing to pay him based on his passing production. No QB that’s been a bigger threat as a runner than a passer has ever won a Super Bowl.

Hasn't he already got a league mvp under his belt? Was there ever a league mvp that had so few passing yards?

He won MVP three years ago. No league MVP at QB has ever had fewer passing yards but no QB league MVP had as many rushing yards. Jackson set an NFL record for rushing yards as a QB that year. The Ravens also went one and done with him in the playoffs. For Jackson to take the Ravens deep in the playoffs he’s going to have to become a more productive passer. He’s going to lose a step eventually and won’t be able to rely on his legs as much. His rushing numbers are starting to come down.

I know Bro. Sorry about that it happens far more than I would like accept my apology
I just jumped in there because it was a good point to jump in. Again ..... Sorry
No problem. Hard to discuss a complex topic with this many people online. Sarcasm is often lost, and when responding like you did, just looking to jump in and make a point, uts easy to get lost..lol. its all good.

Agree completely. When he loses a step, he's in big trouble, because without the speed, he is a bottom tier qb at the moment.

Which is why the Ravens have a dilemma on how much to pay him. They’ve been trying to make him more of a pocket passer. They would rather him be a pass first QB than a run first QB. He’s going to be looking for at least Deshaun Watson money but Watson has been a more productive passer. Even Kurt Warner stated that for Jackson to win a championship he has to become better from the pocket.

Hmm, I wonder if he'd be willing to miss game checks?? No matter though, I'm sure the Cards will resolve this long before the season starts.. If not, this is an EPIC fail for them.

Time for the Cards F.O. to swaller their pride and pay the man. Who are they going to get that's better? Much like the the mistake Jerry made with Dak, they should have extended K.M. last year. Or they can wait until the QB market hits $50M/Year.
Thanks to the Cleveland Browns [signed Dashon Watson to 5 yrs., $230 million{guaranteed}] the INSANE QB market has become LUDICROUS and will greatly impact future negotiations for every team moving forward.

Don't think he's capable. Not everyone can read a D and throw open WR's.

Didn't seem to affect Carr's extension.
