Was anyone else kind of upset that he did not play in this game except for two plays? Rivers was out there playing his guts out and could barely walk. I never saw L.T. even try to get in the game.

Granted, I don't know the extent of his injury, but if that was Emmitt, do you think he would have played?

Just seeing him on the sidelines with his helmet on(and that tinted windshield on his helmet too) said ALOT-it was like he was scared and was trying to hide from the rest of the world. Ricky Williams did this alot in his PC's in his rookie year in New Orleans.

With all that smack talk he did against the Pats(i.e. "We'll beat them 9 times out of 10"), maybe he just got embarrased and afraid?

Personally-I don't buy all that injury crap. Yeah-if you're a RB with an injury below the waste, no matter how minor it is, it's still nonetheless to tough it out. However-that picture of him on the sidelines, I'm sure, was disturbing to Chargers fans.

He re-injured it on the first play and then said he felt "helpless" when he tried to run on it, on the second play.. I think he made the harder decision of knowing that Turner gave the team the better chance to be successful.. and honestly I think Rivers was a liability at multiple points in the game.. perhaps if he gave way to Volek we might have seen a different game.

I personally felt bad for him.. that is just a "sick" feeling to know that you can't help your team.. and I think his actions on the sideline showed that.. he was almost in a state of shock.. working as hard as he does and then not being able to contribute on the field against a team that you know requires your best efforts.. I can only imagine the feeling.

It would have been nice to see him contributing in other ways on the sideline.. and he very well may have been.. but the shots of him just sitting on the bench just left you wondering how he would have affected the game.

That was probably the stupidest decision by Turner. You dont sit a MVP, you dont sit a rushing champion, you dont sit Ladainian Tomlinson, even if he hasnt been effective during the playoffs. Just because the other RB has the last name as the HC.

really? It wouldn't have? If the coached told him your not getting on the field you think he is just going to run out on the field? While Norv Turner may have made a mistake, I guarantee you he knows more about the injury, LT, Turner, and football and general than you do...questioning him or LT is pretty stupid and ignorant if you ask me, and then your come back "would not have kept Emmitt from playing"...what!?!? Are you 5 years old?

Thanks for the complements...:laugh2:

Do you not recall Emmitt playing the Giants with a seperated shoulder? That's what I was referring to...sounds like I touched a nerve there.:lmao2:

Nice to see that some people "understand" what I mean...if I were a Charger fan, I would be furious to see my Superstar Running Back on the bench in a "win-or-die" situation and only be told it was "a coaches decision".

Yes I do recall Emmitt playing the Giants with a separated shoulder...do you recall who Emmitts backup was that year???? Do you know who LTs back up is??? That might have something to do with it, but you appear to ignorant to think about the situation. Touched a nerve?? Yeah I guess stupid threads and stupid posts made by people that don't really know what they are talking about is a nerve...

Don't come on here spewing crap and not expect to get called on it.

Thanks for the complements???? 5 years old sounds about right.

This has to be one of the dumbest threads I have ever seen, not so much by the content but by the way it was approached and some of the responses...Im just wating for the "I'm rubber your glue comeback...." Can we please move this to the NFL Zone or perhaps the trash where it belongs.

He was hurt, he tried to play, and he wasn't any good. it is only a "coach's decision" because LT would not have come out otherwise.

REALLY? Dallas vs. Green Bay 1995. Emmitt had pretty much the same thing.

Emmitt played the next week and was pretty much ineffective.

Dude,

Spewing crap? What do you think these boards are for? I was merely bringing up my opinion and you blow up like this???

What does the backup have to do with anything...do they have a superstar backup? Not to mention, they were playing Rivers and he could barely walk. Exactly how old are you, my friend? 10 is my guess...calling me ignorant is pretty "ignorant" on your part as well...I respect everyone else's questions/opinions/concerns on this board but this is totally uncalled for.

This is the kind of "opposed opinionated" response I would expect from other respectful members. UTRUNNER07's responses are very uncalled for...
