Very nice...I see what you are saying. My only contention would be that there is even a thought that a player was hiding from coaches. If he is completely making this up (which again he might be) then dismiss it. The fact that this thought can even pop in to the heads of players to me is an indication of porr leadership. Something led to this thought process. Doens't appear to happen in NE, Indianapolis, NY, etc.

It's not too hard to figure out. Ellis, while being a good player, thought of himself as a great player. He never saw his play diminish, not in his mind. He thought he should be on the field at all times. Spencer took up a bunch of his playing time due to the fact that Spencer was much stronger against the run. Ellis came in during obvious passing downs.

Ellis has a totally inflated ego, and is extremely insecure about the fact that we let him go. We didn't trade him, we didn't look for anything from anyone.. we just let him go.

This hurt Ellis' ego.. but not enough to put a dent in it. He still stands strong.. he may throw out sayings like "Nothing against Anthony Spencer" or "I'm not trying to bash Anthony Spencer" but it couldn't be further from the truth. He thinks that if he was on the field, we are somehow more successful last season and we end up going to the playoffs.

Ellis is a miniature, less-covered by the media version of Owens. Both brought it on the field when "it mattered the most", but lets face it.. both were distractions. Both seemingly gave a guiding hand to young up and comers by taking them under their wings, but that isn't enough. The attention received by each, no matter how much it may have been, wasn't enough.. and it would never be enough. Ellis, as stated in another thread, is one of those guys who only plays for money. TO plays for attention. Both crave it equally, and will say and do whatever necessary to get it (or hope to get it).

So if Ware says something it's true...if Ellis says something it's not...do I got that?

Oh, and might ware be trying to cover his own *** since he is STILL on the team?

I wonder...especially when Ellis tells him "it's his contract year." If that doesn't sound like something Ellis would say you guys are all lost.

Of course you are right. The dumb penalties, lack of fire, and overall play last year certainly show this team has great leadership. Actually because of that guideance we really haven't had to make any changes this...uh...wait...I mean...um, well we have a new stadium.

Ware played over 97% of snaps last season, and about 1.5% of those missed were from the brief knee injury he sustained.

Dude, I loved your hack rant against Ed Werder, but this thread is full of fail.

I don't think it was so much the dumb look on Wades face that annoyed me. I like that fire Romo displayed. I really did, but he needs to save that energy for winning and use it during those times where he thinks it's appropriate to walk off the field sulking, with his head hanging down.

I mean don't get me wrong. I know Romo is a fighter, but that kind of body language can't be a good thing for the impressionable youngsters on the team. You're the leader, show them that you're never down, you're never out of it, and there will be another series to come back.

The whole issue with sending the punting unit off was the idea that it permeated through the rest of the team, the rooks, who you know were just thinking "Who in gods name controls this team"

And then the whole cover up to make it look like that's not what really happened. You could clearly see Wade saying "He can't do that"

Yes he can Wade, and now this season I don't expect to see that kind of thing. Sit him, and put in Kitna, YOU control this team. Colombo doesn't wanna be benched? Sit him out the rest of the game. These things don't help the team on the field, that game, or that day, but it lets them know that the coaches are in control.

You'd be surprised how damaging one or two red ants on a team or organization can be, in any business. They're like viruses that spread their negativity throughout the team and before you know it everyone on the team has an attitude which has degraded. Fortunately, I think our team has been purged of most of those ants.

:bravo:

BTW, this thread was basically, "See, this is more evidence that Wade sucks!"

When the evidence is shown to be flimsy at best, it's "Well he still sucks anyway!"

obviously...good to see you again...iowa still sucks :)

The state isnt the most entertaining I'll give you that, but I still have my homestate pride and will defend it.

And if you're referring to our football team, we're #19 in the country with one of the best defenses and a promising up and coming offense.

Dont be surprised if you see them in the Rose Bowl

#19 huh...not bad...

Of course the fact that I could hit a curveball allowed me to play at this little state school 2 hours north of Orlando where we are NUMBER 1!!!!! That's right baby...NATIONAL CHAMPS!!! But 19 is good. Move up 17 more spots and we can punk you like we do Ohio State every freekin' year...

:)

By the way...GO GATORS!!!

And while we're on the subject of leadership and college football...Maybe wade can listen to Timmy's speech after the Ole Miss loss. That is leadership!

See, now this board is fun again.

you guys want to treat men like they are boys, that crap doesn't fly with adults.

easy way to get the team to turn on the coaches.

And I say let the guys act like they act, don't put on airs, just be yourself.

There are a million different ways to be a leader, and none of them start with walking a certain way. That whole concept is silly.

Dude UF gets almost 60 million per year from Gatorade and has access to some of the greatest athletes in the nation. They are also in the only state in the continental 48 with a tropical climate, and they are a coast state which greatly helps recruiting.

Iowa is surrounded by corn and has a cold climate for football season. For what Iowa has to work with in their football department, and with wins and the players they've sent pro (who have been more productive lately than any Florida player) I'm extremely proud of Hawkeye football.

The facts show that Ware was on the field for about 98% of he defensive snaps last year, and the majority of the ones he missed were in the Seattle game when he hurt his knee.

Why would Ellis make this up (and he may have), but why? And ask yourself do you really see something like this as not remotely being possible with this staff?

Remember a staff that has already had to dump several coaches for not being able to get the job done. Not saying you're wrong, but I actaully take Ellis' side on this.

First off, because Ellis is and always has been a whinner. He can't even let things go even though he isn't even on the team any longer.

NO, NO, NO...Meyer won at Utah and Bosie State is pretty good. Find coaches that can recruit, scheme, and prepare their students. Ol' Bobby Bowden up the road is having an issues winning (as is Miami) in this same climate.

Iowa would beat both Boise St and Utah, you kidding me?

Not to mention our program has put more players in the pro's than both of those schools combined.

And yeah FSU and Mia are having problems NOW, but both have at one point been national powerhouses due to the climate and talent in Florida.
