I know it seems like an awful lot of injuries across the league this preseason with guys getting carted off the field straight to the hosp and the Cowboys losing two very promising young players for the season

Having said that I see guys like Trevor Lawrence Geno Smith Calvin Ridley Ettiene among others playing pre season vs Dallas . I just hope Dakota doesn’t come out all amped up in New Jersey in a few weeks starts flinging around Incompletes or INT’s or someone pulls a hammy from lack of playing time .

The Raiders game I suspect guys on the bubble will get all the PT and starters will get more vacation time .

Sounds about right. Just hoping we don't get another serious injury on anyone..; and especially someone who may have made the team.

I repeat like I have in multiple other threads:

Our issue are in the divisional round and on, the lack of preseason reps have not had any impact on our playoff woes.

We’ve been 3-1 the past two seasons and ended 12-5. Everyone here will take 3-1 to start the season. Mike knows what he’s doing, stop crying.

But but but……Andy Reid makes Mahomes play and Rodgers is getting one series. Dak is gonna throw 3 interceptions against the Giants because he did not get a series.

This team of football players will open from the whistle to final gun and go for the entire game. They'll be and already ready to take it to the turf.

To be fair, they were terrible against Tampa in the opener last year lol

Maybe some of you don't have a true understanding of what mini camps, OTA's, training camps, and practice over all offseason these guys have had 1000 reps at running and passing and throwing and cutting and hitting.. they're just not tackling..

I'd be more worried about the defense or the running backs not being tackled very hard but outside of that this is what offseason is for the preseason is not to prepare the starters for the regular games because they're not game planning,
they're not doing anything special to where it would help anyway all you would be doing is showing your plays if you did that this is a new offense somewhat tweaked they're doing that behind closed doors.... even the stuff that you're seeing on social media and the videos they're releasing that's what they want you to see.
The other stuff being in closed practices if you think they're not throwing the ball enough, running, and cutting, you're not watching!!:huh:
and these dudes are year round weight room guys, also did you not catch Prescott on at least two occasions take his wide receivers and tight ends on his own field in his backyard and they're playing Sandlot football...
I mean they're running they're cutting they're throwing... I mean what exactly do you think 20 ******* snaps is going to do in the preseason you really think that's going to be great and you're going to win a Super Bowl ???????????????????????????????
great if that's the case,
if there's any proof we should play all the starters all three preseason games,
guess what it's been proven it's less likely to help and it could be more risky and hurt so I'd rather do it the way McCarthy is doing it and if you don't think that they're in shape and the only way to get in a 60 minute game shape is to play the first game all the starters are going to have to play through the first half take, the break at halftime, and then come out and get their second wind..
it's gonna be like that for all teams all players because it's different when it's live and in a real game and when there's game planning and you got to go from start to finish this has been a proven fact,
so please stop all the overreactions for non-playing PS time and by the way do you remember game one in 2021 when Prescott hung about 500 yards of offense on the eventual Tampa Bay Super Bowl winning defense, he did that without any preseason...

How do you think these guys come off of no preseason then break your hand in the first game and then come out and literally seem to be In Sync and have our offense go from bottom 10 to one of the top scoring offenses top third down percent offenses top red zone offenses...

how did that happen???? coming off of no preseason only one game and a broken hand it's because these players are ready to play those interceptions, you're talking about we're more because of the offensive line and the receivers, than it was the quarterback we've already proven that and yet you guys keep harping on this nonsense.

just stop it..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Cowboys starters do not lack for practice time in any way. Over the next 3 weeks, the starters will get more reps than anyone as the Cowboys prepare for the Giants. The Coaching staff is likely beginning the game plan for the Giants this week. 10-25 plays in preseason games is NOT a lack of practice time. If preseason games were really crucial to success, then high schools and colleges would play them also. Preseason games only exist to pad the Owners' pockets with the money of fans gullible enough to go to these meaningless games. They have no practice value.

The Cowboys starting defense has had to line-up every day and play against the offense that led the league in scoring over the past two seasons. The Cowboys starting defense has had to line up every day and play against the defense that led the league in take-aways the last two consecutive seasons, and has one of the fiercest pass rush group of players in the NFL. That is where the real value of practice lies - not in a few plays in the 1st quarter of preseason games against other squads that are inferior to the Cowboys starters on both offense and defense.

We are 1-4 in our last 5 season openers. The loss last year cost us a shot at the one seed. Every game is critical and nobody else is running another Camp Cupcake, which worked out so well for us the last time we did it.

My whole life of watching football and every team got starters their reps in preseason except the recent Dallas Cowboys. Starters getting work in preseason is still the norm across the league.

Perhaps Mike does not know what he is doing here or it wasn't his call, but ordered by Jones.

I won't accept 3-1 when the reason for the loss was our own stupidity in not getting ready and it helps cost us a one seed and home field advantage.
